GOLF NEWS-Navinder smiles with double wins at Nyali in Mombasa;

Navinder Kaur took home course advantage by claiming a double win from a single tournament at the par 71 Nyali Golf and Country Club Course in Mombasa County on Saturday.
The handicap 41 Kaur returned 67 nett to grab the Pendant medal and the C Division winner in the Ladies Section during the during Pendant golf tournament that featured an estimated 75 lady golfers.
“I have working hard on my putting and swings which has brought this victory after being out of the podium for many season. Am looking forward to victories in more coming events, “said Kaur.

The Club’s former Lady Captain playing off handicap 12 Mary Kandu dominated the ladies section winning the Gross title on 82 gross and also claiming lead in the Division A category with 70 nett.
William Kaguta, the Club’s Youthful Veteran golfer playing off handicap 1 recorded a level par 71 gross to emerge the Gross winner in the Men side.

The Tourney was sponsored by the Club and attracted an estimated 100 Men who played alongside the Ladies.
Omar Lewa playing off handicap 8 was the Division A Mug winner prize for Men on a count back score of 69 nett after tying on the same score with second placed handicap 12 Martin Wahome and taking the third slot on 70 nett was handicap 12 Vishnu Dhutia.


Senior Golfer Johnson Wamunyua playing off handicap 16 carded 67 nett to win the B Division and handicap 14 Lumatete Muchai with 74 nett while handicap 14 Clemence Agina on 75 nett were the runners up and third respectively.
The C Division was won on a count back score of 69 nett by handicap 21 Tom Soigwa , tying on the same score with handicap 22 Rimal Shah and handicap 21 Joseph Kaguru was third having finished on 70 nett.


Handicap 30 Jabess Mdhai won the D Division category with 63 nett and handicap 32 Kasim Sawa brought 69 nett to claim the runners up slot.
Paul Kiboi playing off handicap 24 was the Guest winner on 66 nett and handicap 4 Kalamu Choyo carded 72 nett win the Best Caddy prize.
In the A Division of the Ladies side handicap 17 Zaituni Mohamed on 73 nett and the Club Lady Captain handicap 17 Mary Mariga were the runners up and third placed respectively.
Handicap 28 Hellen Wanjiru won the B division with a score of 69 nett as handicap 32 Rose Kinyanjui on 72 nett claimed the runners up slot and handicap 22 Hilda Mugure was third on 74 nett.
The Lady Guest winner was Mercy Kairu playing off handicap 41 who returned 72 nett while handicap 16Redemtha Wayua took the Best Lady caddy prize with 72 nett and handicap 28 senior veteran lady golfer Terry Odoo with 28 putts went home with the Best Putter prize.
