The Professional Golfers of Kenya Association (PGK) has appointment Robert Muthomi as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective 1st March 2024.

In assuming the role of CEO, Robert expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “It is an honor to lead the Professional Golfers of Kenya Association, an organization dedicated to the excellence and development of professional golf in our country. I am eager to work collaboratively with our stakeholders, members, and partners to elevate the stature of golf and create new opportunities for our professionals.”

PGK Chairman CJ Wangai, expressed his pleasure while welcoming the CEO said Robert’s appointment marks a pivotal moment for the PGK as it looks ahead to a future filled with innovation, inclusivity, and excellence.

“With a clear strategic direction and a dynamic leadership team in place, the PGK is poised to enhance its competitions, expand its reach and inspire a new generation of golf professionals across the region. We are excited to embark on an exciting journey to elevate professional golf and uphold the values of integrity, professionalism, and sportsmanship that define our sport, “said Wangai.

Robert’s wealth of experience and a profound passion for the sport of golf, Robert is poised to lead the PGK into an exciting new chapter of growth and development.

He is an accomplished Sports administrator having been CEO of Football Kenya Federation (FKF) and Nakuru AllStars Football Club.

While in  FKF, he was instrumental in establishing a strong governance structure in the Federation that brought in a number of commercial partnerships and sporting progress most notably The Harambee Stars and Harambee Starlets qualification to the 2019 African Cup of Nations and 2016 Women’s African Cup of Nations.

As CEO of the Nakuru All Stars he led them to the Kenya Premier League within two full seasons while establishing the team as a player development center.

Robert’s vision for the PGK aligns perfectly with the organization’s commitment to promoting and advancing the sport of golf in Kenya.
