It’s a weekend full of actions as Coast golfers battle for honors in a two days’ tournaments at the Sea-link Mombasa and Nyali golf and country club course in Mombasa county this weekend.
The golfers for both the clubs notably those who can, will be shuttling between the two courses in the Island and mainland north coast of Mombasa seeking at least to grab any of the sterling prizes lined up for the winners.
Action started on Friday with the Finlays golf tournament for the Scott Cup & Rose Bowl titles themed ‘Live our Value-Shape our culture’ at the Mombasa golf course in the Island while Nyali golf and country club in the same day has the I&M Bank tournament.
The Kenya Women in Tourism golf day, a celebration of the World Tourism day, follows at the Mombasa golf course tomorrow on Saturday where exciting prizes has been lined up for the winners.
Green and white or Red with white will be the on course dress code and Coastal attire will be the theme for the evening.
On the other hand, Nyali course in the mainland North will also be hosting golfers for the Muwi plastics tournament on the same time.
According to the programme from the clubs, all the tournaments is open to all golfing members of hosting clubs who has a valid world handicapping handicap indexes.
Golfers from other clubs and sponsors with valid handicap are allowed but will only qualify to win the guest prize category and the format of play will be 18 holes stable ford scoring off 95% of handicap.

Mombasa golf club chairman Lawrence Odhiambo said the competition for the tournament will be fierce and that this weekend will be about camaraderie, sportsmanship and enjoying the great game of golf with friends both old and new.
“I just hope the golf ‘gods’ will be smiling upon us this weekend and that everyone brings their ‘A’ game to the celebration of the sport we all love that will also be an opportunity to showcase the beauty of our course. Your support is invaluable and allows us to make this event truly special for everyone involved, “said Odhiambo.

Nyali golf club Chairman Jayine Githere said they are deeply grateful to host two tournaments in this weekend and that all is set to have a wonderful day beyond the competition.
“Let’s make this weekend to remember, filled with great shots, friendly competition and memorable moments. May your drives be long and true and your putts find the bottom of the cup. Good luck to all the competitors, “said Githere.
Kailesh Chauhan leads the Friday tournament at Nyali course starting from 7am in a four flight of Kenneth Mosop, Shafiq Makrani and lady golfer Sandra Githere.
