GOLF NEWS-Juniors decorated with various awards in the third round of the 2025 NCBA US kids Mombasa local tour at Nyali.

-An estimated 200 juniors aged 6 to 18 years both girls and boys featured in the 18 holes and 9 holes’ tournament.

Over 200 junior golfers were decorated with various sterling awards in the third round of the 2025 NCBA US kids Mombasa tour golf tournament played at the Nyali golf and Country club in Mombasa county on Sunday.
The par 71 course featured the Juniors both girls and boys aged from under 6 years to 18 years who playing either 18 or 9 nine holes to register scores from their age groups.
Gunita Patel recorded a total round of 121 strokes to lead the girls 15-18 years’ group and Marie Ivan claimed the runners up spot on 145 strokes.
The boys top title in the same age group was won by Joseph Aryan Awe on 94 strokes while Alpha Wise brought 11 9 strokes to take second command.
Khatija Pasta was the queen of the girls 13 to 14 years old after posting 140 strokes beating Muraayo Hersi to the runners up slot on a single stroke difference while for the boys in the same age group, it was Lucas Kampa who took the lead on 93 strokes as David Kaguru on 107 strokes and Khalid Bajaber with 137 strokes emerged runners and third placed respectively.
The girls 11 to 12 years old group was taken care of by Ivanna Wanjiku on 11 6 strokes, a single stroke ahead of second placed Kanika Shah.
Promise Sila won the Boys in the 12 years’ groups beating them with 121 strokes while Emmanuel Ajello on 124 strokes and Ethan Mundia with 136 strokes claimed the runners up and third placed slots respectively.

The day long tournament organized by the Junior Golf Foundation (JGF) and supported by NCBA attracted the juniors from the home club and parts of the Coast with guest juniors.
NCBA Nyali Branch manager Leonard Mwangangi thanked the club for hosting the tournament saying it was successfully a happy day of celebrations with the juniors and their parents.
“We shall continue to support this tournament which is an inspiration and through programs aimed at nurturing the Juniors who have picked up the sport of golf and an early age. I urge them to keep practicing, playing and enjoying the game. They are indeed our future stars, “said Mwangangi.
JGF Coast representative Mary Mariga extended heartfelt congratulations to all the winners, thanked the sponsor for their support and parents for bringing their children to the tournament.
“Our Juniors, your hard work and dedication have paid off and all of us including parents are prouder of your achievements, “said Mariga.
The next action is set for Diani’s Diamonds Leisure Beach & Golf Resort in South Coast of Mombasa Kwale County in the last week of this month.
