JamboJet has launched Direct flights to Zanzibar, Tanzania from Mombasa, Kenya as a result of Mombasa County Government’s push for a new direct route to connect the two coastal cities that will also boost the County’s economy by widely focusing on tourism.

The Mombasa-Zanzibar route comes on the advent of Jambojet realizing 56% market share in the domestic market, affirming its commitment to continuously providing reliable and affordable travel across key destinations.

It is expected that this route will significantly reduce current travel time and cost to passengers seeking to enjoy the East African experience, promoting tourism and business between Kenya and Tanzania.

The new route aligns with the airline’s growth strategy and enhances affordable and convenient connectivity within East Africa.
Mombasa County is rapidly being positioned as a center of Coastal Tourist destination in Africa largely connecting the East (Dubai) with direct flights to and from Mombasa which were commissioned early January 2023.


Mombasa County Governor Abdulswamad Shariff Nassir who was among the officials during the Lucah from Moi International Airport Mombasa, said that tourism policy has always been advocating for open sky policy and that this is a milestone achievement expected to boost the economy of the County.
The Governor together with the County’s Tourism CECM Mohamed Osman Ali had the opportunity of being among the first passengers for the flight to Zanzibar and back as the fully commissioned its operations.

Jambojet flies to 7 destinations from its primary hub in Nairobi, Jomo Kenyatta International Airport to Mombasa, Eldoret, Kisumu, Malindi, Ukunda (Diani), Lamu, and Goma in Eastern DRC.


They also operate two routes from its secondary hub in Mombasa to Kisumu and Eldoret.
