GOLF-Easter holiday break is over and now its action time as golfers return to the greens;

This will see all roads lead to Golf Park Course for the Golf park open while others will be at Railways bidding farewell to their Club Chairman as Kericho hosts KenGen, and other clubs has lined up various events;

All Roads lead to the Ngong Race Course & Golf Park Club course in the Capital city of Nairobi from Friday, 14th, April, 2023 for the 2nd Edition of the Golf Park Open Golf Championship.

Defending Champion John Lejirma of Kenya Railways Golf Club will be the man to beat when the Country’s top leading Amateurs battle again for cash prizes lined up for the winners.
This Kenya Golf Union (KGU) organized tourney will be played over 54 holes for 3 days from Friday, tomorrow, Saturday and ends on Sunday 16th,April,2023.
Some 70 Amateurs has lined up for the top cash prize and the trophy in the tourney aimed at creating opportunities for the top amateurs to earn World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR) points.

According to the programme, the Amateurs will be joined by 23 professionals in the second and third rounds but on a separate cash prize.
Lejirma who won the Inaugural event last year is expected to face stiff competition from Limuru’s Dennis Maara who is coming from his maiden win this year at the Winston Churchill event two weeks ago at Thika Sports Club.


Other notables include two former juniors Kiambu Golf Club’s Elvis Muigua and Sigona Golf Club’s Ngondo Kimemia.
Missing in action will be the reigning Kenya one, Mike Karanga of Kiambu who has embarked on a trip to South Africa to participate in the Western Province Amateur Championship at the Strand Golf Club from 17th-19th April 2023.
Top amateur ladies will also be missing in action as they will be competing at the 54 holes’ event of the Kenya Ladies Golf Union (KLGU) Open Meeting from Friday 14th April to Sunday 16th April 2023 at Vet lab Sports Club.
The Golf Park Open 2023 is well sponsored by the Kingdom Bank which is a subsidiary of the Cooperative Bank of Kenya.


Club host Captain Frank Wambua said they are delighted to run this important event in their golf calendar and has allowed other golfers and fans who wish to cheer their favorite players to grace the occasion.
Meanwhile over 200 golfers will be converging at the Kericho Golf Club for the KenGen Golf tournament to be played on Saturday, 15th, April, 2023
The daylong 18 holes stable ford event starts at 7.00 am with the flight team of D.Kigen, B.Sambu, S.Moraa and E.K.Koech.


Kenya Railways Golf Club in the Capital City of Nairobi will be the hosting Other Golfers over 250 golfers to bid farewell to their club Chairman Engineer Timothy Ruhiu in a two days event that tees off from Friday ,14th,April,2023 from 6.30 am with the flight of I.Lande,S.Ngure,J.Komu,and P.Komu.
Tomorrow on Saturday, 15th, April, 2023, it starts at the same time with the group flight of J.Gichuru, N.Mwaura and F.Githaiga with the last flight at 1.40 Pm comprising of I.Lande, W.Muturi, J.MKivuva and N.Dorris.
The NCBA golf series takes place at the Limuru Country Club in Kiambu Country ton Saturday from 6.45 am.
Ruiru Sports Club in the same day has the Isuzu golf tournament while at the Coast ,the Seafront Mombasa Golf Club members and friends will be hosting a post Tannahill Match play event to continue celebrating their second place win at the just concluded 2023 Tanna Shield tournament traditionally held over the Easter holidays at Royal Nairobi Club.
And at the Thika Green Golf Resort Club course on Wednesday, handicap 16 Chris Kinuthia carded 71 nett to win the Club’s Divas Medal.

Handicap 26 Alice Gicharu was the lady winner on 79 nett while handicap 25 Magdalene Mbugua on 84 nett and handicap 37 Rose Kimani with 87 nett were the lady runners up and subsidiary winner respectively.
