The 12th, leg of the NCBA Golf Series is set to take place this Saturday, 7th June at the Kitale Golf Club where at least 120 golfers are expected to participate in the tournament.

Competitors will battle for top honors in multiple categories, including Overall Men gross winner, Overall Lady gross winner, Division 2 Men and Lady winner, Division 3 Overall winner, and Junior winner, where each category winner will secure a spot in the Series Grand Finale slated for later this year.

Kitale Golf Club’s Captain Andrew Birir is looking forward to the event this weekend noting that everything is set to ensure a smooth day of golfing.
“It is such a privilege, and we are happy to host this qualifier once again and for that we thank NCBA. We expect quite a big field this weekend, but everything has been put in place to ensure a memorable day of golfing for all participants and spectators. The course is in good condition, and we are ready to welcome the golfers,” Birir said.
NCBA Group Managing Director John Gachora said, “We remain dedicated to supporting the growth and development of golf across the country. Over the years, Kitale Golf Club has proven to be an excellent host for this leg of the series, providing a fantastic environment for competition. We are proud to continue this tradition and look forward to another memorable tournament this weekend.”
The Kitale event comes hot on the heels of the latest qualifier held at the Nyali Golf and Country Club course in Mombasa County barely two weeks ago where William Kaguta and Mary Kandu emerged as the overall gross winners at the event that attracted 223 golfers from across the Mombasa region.
Elsewhere at Ruiru Sports Club, known for its wide fairways and lush green, will be hosting the 11th, leg of the KCB East Africa Golf Tour as golfers compete for the top prizes and a chance to qualify for the tour’s grand finale.
The eagerly awaited tournament will see 280 top Amateur golfers converge at the par 72 course where the winning team will automatically qualify for the grand finale slated for December 5th, joining other teams that have sealed their spots.
Ruiru Lady Captain Rhoda Mukami said, “We are expecting a huge field on Saturday. Ruiru has become a hub for corporate golf events in recent years. This has largely been driven by our commitment to golfing excellence, ensuring that our course is in the best condition to host events of this magnitude. Ruiru Sports Club and KCB share a strong relationship. Both institutions have the best interests at heart for the growth of the game.”
Last weekend, in Nairobi, two teams from Karen Country Club qualified for the grand finale and they include Rose Njendu, Mutheu Ngunze, Elizabeth Kimkung, Rosemary Njogu, Atsango Lwande, Monica Kipchumba, Rebecca Juma and Violet Luchendo.
KCB Group Director Marketing and Communications Rosalind Gichuru said, “We are steadfast in our resolve to advance the game of golf in the country. Through the 2025 KCB East Africa Golf Tour, we have reached over 1,500 participants and over 1,000 juniors through the golf clinics that ran concurrently with the series. This is part of our larger plan to strengthen regional unity, democratize the sport and bolster socio-economic development.”
Golfer Paul Kamau who recently triumphed at the 18-hole course during a corporate golf tournament will be eager to replicate his heroics at the KCB tourney while Long-hitting Susan Kanyora will also participate in the competition among other talented golfers.
Action will tee off at 6:30 am in the morning and the afternoon tee is scheduled to start at 12:30 pm.
