ICEA LION King of the course golf series moves to the par 72 Nanyuki Sports club course in Laikipia County on Saturday ,7th March with over 150 players across the Country expected to grace the daylong 18 holes’ tournament, set against the iconic backdrop of mt. Kenya.

This fourth leg of the 2026 ongoing king of the lion golf series in its 10th Edition, advances to Nanyuki, after a resounding success of earlier series held in Machakos, Thika Greens and Ruiru.
Sterling prizes has been lines up for the players who will also be fighting to gain slots to play in the Series grand finale later this year where the series ultimate grand winner will represent the circuit at the Lekoa Classic in South Africa.

The Nanyuki leg is expected to deliver an exceptional golfing experience to the players in the series which kick start a curtain raising special club nite tournament at Nyeri golf club on Friday,6th March.
Club’s captain Michael Mwirigi has assured players of a well-organized tournament that balances competitiveness with a welcoming atmosphere.
“Our course is renowned for its pristine course conditions, modern facilities, exceptional cuisine and warm hospitality that provides an ideal setting for both competitive and social golf. We are ready and all set for this tournament which marks a significant milestone in the ICEA 2026 series and reaffirms its commitment to excellence in golf development and stakeholder engagement, “said Mwirigi.
He pointed out that among the top players to watch includes Umraj Sehimi, Cyprian Bundi with the ladies’ side among them Marion Githinnji, Purity Githua and lady captain Jenny Wachuka.
The series captain Joe Mboya noted that the overall grand winner of the 2025 series will represent the circuit at the 2026 Lekoa Classic in South Africa, underscoring the series’ role in exposing local talent to regional and international golfing opportunities.
“In support of this achievement, a contingent of over 20 golfers from Machakos will accompany the 2025 winner, Julius Kioko of Machakos golf club, for the international event, “said Mboya.
ICEA LION group Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Philip Lopokoiyit highlighted the tournament as a cornerstone of the group’s customer engagement and brand-building initiatives.
“The King of the course golf series has consistently recorded strong growth in participation and engagement. The Nanyuki leg will further elevate this momentum, reinforcing ICEA LION’s commitment to excellence, community engagement and meaningful partnerships within and beyond the Mt. Kenya region, “said Lopokoiyit.
He added that the ICEA LION King of the course series continues to be more than a competition, a celebration of the golfing community, encouraging inclusivity and the growth of the sport across all skill levels.
Following the Nanyuki tournament, the series will proceed to Eldoret and Nandi Bears on 29th and 30th, May 2026.
