GOLF NEWS-Caddy golfer Richard Kibicho Shines at KCB Caddie Tournament in Nyeri.

-The Nyeri event added yet another memorable chapter to the ongoing KCB East Africa Golf Tour, which continues to provide a platform for caddies across the region to showcase their talent, sharpen their skills, and gain recognition in the sport.

Richard Kibicho produced a stellar performance to win the KCB East Africa Golf Tour Caddie tournament held at the 9-hole Nyeri Club in Kiambu County on Monday,15th, September,2025.
The handicap 1 golfer returned a solid 72 nett to claim the top spot in the highly competitive event graced by a field of more than 100 caddies in an intense competition.
Kibicho, who was elated after his victory, said the triumph was a culmination of hard work and focus. “This win means a lot to me because it proves that dedication and consistency pay off. Playing against such a strong field of caddies pushed me to give my best, and I am proud to take this victory home. My goal is to keep improving and represent caddies at even higher levels of the game,” he remarked.
Daniel Mwangi, playing off handicap 8, emerged as the first runner-up with 77 nett, while handicap 6 golfer Patrick Abira secured the second runner-up position after also returning 77 nett.
In Division Two, Brian Ngari (handicap 29) dominated with an impressive 65 nett, followed closely by Brian Munene (handicap 28) on 67 nett, with Samuel Nderitu (handicap 20) also carding 67 nett to finish third.
The ladies’ category was equally competitive where in Division one, handicap 14 golfer Mary Gathoni topped the leaderboard with 83 nett, ahead of handicap 12 player Wangari Njoroge (93 nett) and handicap 16’s Winnie Kanyo (95 nett).
Gathoni expressed her pride after lifting the title saying, “Today’s victory is a huge encouragement. It shows that women caddies are equally capable of excelling in this sport. I believe this will inspire more women to step forward and pursue their golfing dreams.”
In Division two, handicap 29 golfer Jane Mukami stole the show on a superb 65 nett, with Quinto Wangechi (handicap 31) finishing second on 68 nett and Edith Wambui (handicap 30) taking third after carding 70 nett.
