GOLF NEWS-Greg snow makes a stunning finish at the Limuru Leg of the PGK Equator Tour.

Greg Snow emerges victorious as a tightly packed leaderboard and standout team performances define the second leg of the PGK Equator Tour at Limuru Country Club course that concluded on Sunday.
The Limuru leg that concluded after four days of intense, high-level golf, showcased the talent and grit of Kenya’s top professional players.
The tournament featured 48 golfers competing over four days, all vying for top honors and valuable ranking points in the second leg of the PGK Equator Tour.
After a tightly contested final round, Greg Snow emerged as the champion with a total score of 276 gross, finishing 12 under par.
Snow’s consistency across all four rounds, including his impressive second-round 65 gross, saw him maintain his lead to seal the win.
He was followed closely by Njoroge Kibugu who delivered a strong closing performance with 69 gross, securing second place at 10 under par 278 gross.
Safaricom-sponsored Mohit Mediratta finished third with a total of 280 gross (-8), holding off a tight group that included Gaita Rodell and John Karichu who both tied for fourth at 281 gross (-7) each.
PGK Chairman, C J Wangai said, “The Limuru leg showed exactly why the PGK Equator Tour is so important. We saw tight competition, improved performances, and a new level of professionalism among our players. We’re proud of what the tour is building and grateful to our sponsors for making it possible.”
The finish comes after four days of intense competition where day one opened with strong performances across the field as Mohit Mediratta fired a brilliant 67 gross (-5) to take the early lead.
He was closely followed by John Karichu, Greg Snow, and Kennedy Abuto who all carded 68 gross (-4) each setting the tone for a competitive week ahead.
Day two saw the leader board shake up dramatically with Greg Snow’s shot the lowest round of the day with 65 gross to take the lead at 9 under par.
NCBA’s Edwin Mudanyi also climbed into contention with a composed 68 gross while Mediratta dropped back slightly after a 74 gross score.
Despite the shifting standings, only a few strokes separated the top contenders heading into the weekend.
Day three saw the competition intensify with multiple players tying at the top of the leader board and Snow carded a solid round of 71 gross, maintaining his position with a cumulative score of -11, holding on to a share of the lead.
He was joined by Mohit Mediratta who also posted a 71 gross to finish the day at -9 and Mutahi Kibugu, who surged with a superb 65 gross, tying for second place at -9 as well.
Njoroge Kibugu added further excitement with a 67 gross also reaching -9 bringing the total to four players tied for second place heading into the final round.
The Safaricom-sponsored team delivered a strong overall showing with three of its golfers placing in the top 10.
Mediratta finished third (-8), Mutahi Kibugu tied for 7th (-4), and Samuel Chege also tied for 7th (-4) all posting consistent scores across the tournament.
This performance claimed Safaricom the top spot in the Corporate Challenge of the PGK Equator Tour where the event sponsors are ranked based on the performance of their players.
Last month, Safaricom committed Ksh. 3 million to support the tour and sponsored four golfers and other sponsors of the tour were NCBA, Britam, VISA, Kenya Airways, Johnnie Walker, and Computech.
The Limuru tournament is part of the Professional Golfers of Kenya’s Player Development Plan (PDP), a long-term initiative to nurture emerging golfers with technical training, mental coaching, and increased exposure through competitive events.
The next stop in the PGK Equator Tour will take place at Kipipiri in August as Kenya’s top pros continue their journey across the best courses in the country.

Elsewhere, BRIAN JAYSON-OXYGENE PR adds, that the four-ball of Dismas Mokua, Peter Mogendi, Zachary Bichage, and Andrew Nyanusi returned a combined score of 99 points to clinch the KCB East Africa Golf Tour at the par-70 Kisii Golf Club on Saturday and the team has now qualified for the tour’s grand finale slated for December 5 th.
Speaking at the prize-giving ceremony on behalf of the team, Mokua said, “It is such an honor for us to emerge victorious after a competitive round of golf here at Kisii. We had an amazing four-ball. As a team, we challenged each other on the course, and we knew that we had to take the game seriously for us to win. We intend to go to the grand finale to win.”
In the individual category, handicap 20 Josphat Omayo carded an excellent 37 stableford points to be named the overall winner after beating a huge field.
Handicap 8 Wycliffe Ayienda returned 35 points to bag the men’s winner award and handicap 20 Christine Nyangena returned 33 points to clinch Ladies category.
In the divisional play handicap Charles Aburi took top honors in Division one with 35 points while handicap 20 Moses Lepiren led Division two with 32 points and handicap 40 Alanna Osoro dominated Division three by carding 35 points.
In the special prizes, Andrew Kombo won the First Nine with 19 points, while Peter Mogendi returned to claim the Second Nine title with 20 points. Sponsor accolades went to Steve Nyamanya (29 pts) and runner-up Eliud Siganga (29 pts). In the guest category, Scola Onsongo posted 28 points to walk away with the Guest Winner award.
The junior category was equally competitive, with Leo Osoro and Amani Kristen tying at 29 points, Leo edging out to win on countback.
In the on-course challenges, David Biegon won the Men’s Longest Drive, Elizabeth Mose claimed the Women’s Longest Drive, while K. Too walked away with the Nearest to the Pin prize.
The next leg of the KCB East Africa Golf Tour will be held at the Sigona Golf Club on August 9, 2025.
