GOLF NEWS-ICEA LION roars back in its 8th edition’s year opener at the nine hole Machakos course on Saturday;

-Event has attracted over 140 golfers returning back to the Course after the festive holiday season;

ICEA LION King of the Course returns in its 8th Edition’s year opener set for the nine hole Machakos Country Club Course in Machakos County on Saturday.

Over 140 golfers coming from the festive holiday festive season are expected to grace the daylong 18 holes stable ford tournament featuring Professionals, Amateurs and juniors who have been invited from both Machakos and the wider Nairobi metropolitan area.

This will be the year opener for the anticipated 8th edition of the ICEA LION King of the Course 2024 golf series following the resounding success of the 7th edition which unfolded across 7 different clubs nationwide and concluded with a spectacular finale at Nyali in October last year.

According to the ICEA Lion 2024 Golf Calendar, This year’s Series has also introduced a fresh format, with events scheduled to occur on the first weekend of every month from January departing from the traditional weekly.

After Machakos, the series is set for Thika Greens Golf Resort on February 2, 2024 then move to Nanyuki Sports Club on March 9, 2024 and subsequently to Nandi Bears on May 25, 2024 among others culminating in the grand finale at Nyali in October 2024.

Machakos Golf Club Captain Stephen Musyoka expressed confidence in the recent improvements at the Club affirming that the course is in excellent condition.

The Captain of ICEA LION Joe Mboya said “The Grand Winner of the 2023 series has been scheduled to participate in 2024 Lekoa Classic on 26 th and 27 th of April 2024 at Parys Golf and Country Estate-Vaal De Grace, in South Africa.

Chief Executive Officer of ICEA LION Philip Lopokoiyit said expressed enthusiasm about hosting customers and stakeholders at the year-opening tournament and noted that the golf circuit ,a key fixture is a strategic objectives of customer centricity and continuous brand engagement,

“We are thrilled to kick off the 8th edition of the ICEA LION King of the Course 2024 golf series at Machakos Golf Club. Anticipating an even grander affair, this series is not just about golf, it’s a celebration of excellence and a platform for meaningful engagement with our clients and stakeholders across Kenya,” said LopoKoiyit.

He said that the tournaments promise to be a source of excitement, continuous client engagement, and, above all, a celebration of the thriving golfing community across Kenya and remains committed to not only enhancing competitiveness within the sport but also to fostering greater participation in golf, attracting enthusiasts and novices alike.
