Home Club’s William Kaguta carded a sterling 4 over par 75 gross to emerge the gross winner during the Equity Bank Golf tournament played at the challenging par 71 Nyali Golf and Country Club Course in Mombasa County over the weekend.
The single handicap 2 Kaguta who dedicates the achievements to a testament of hard work and perseverance has proved once again to be the top Coast gross player after sweeping most of the gross titles at the Club from January this year.
“I would like to thank the organizers Equity Bank for this tournament, My Club and all for bringing us such a wonderful day. I’m honored to stand here as a consistent gross winner again today and I’d like to also to thank my fellow competitors for their sportsmanship and to all others for their unwavering support. To all the golfers out there, keep pushing yourself to be your best. I’d also like to congratulate all the participants on this fantastic tournament and look forward to next forthcoming tournament.”
Equity Bank sponsored this day long 18 holes’ tournament featuring 156 players that saw handicap 20 Rumit Patani emerge the overall winner on 46 stable ford points.
Handicap 17 Dr. Kibet Kikwai brought 40 points to win the man title while handicap 15 Niran Hiran on 39 points and handicap 13 Frank Heter with 39 points were the runners up and third placed respectively.

The Club’s former Lady Captain Mary Kandu playing off handicap 10 survived on a count back score of 35 points to win the Lady’s title after tying on the same score with handicap 18 Zaituni Mohamed who was the runners up.
Nitin Pandya playing off handicap 36 carded 36 points to win the Best Senior prize for those players over 65 years and the junior prize was claimed by handicap 10 Tony Gachau with 37 points.
Equity staff winner’s prize was won on 27 points by David Mungai and handicap 10 Sylvia Gabil carded 35 points to carry the guest prize.
Coast lady Caddy turned Golfer Naomi Kikulu of Mombasa Golf Club brought fame to her Club after recording 33 points to emerge the winner of Invited Coastal Clubs while the High Handicappers’ prize was won by handicap 39 Farida Saeed on 37 points.
Handicap 20 Edward Ndung’u and handicap 15 Peter Kimanga tied on a count back score of 21 points each to win the first and second nines prizes respectively.
Club Captain Omar Lewa said it has been an honor to host the tournament and thanked the Bank for bringing the tournament to the club that ended successfully.

The Captain urged his Club members to continue to nurture a culture of camaraderie, sportsmanship, and excellence while also requesting them to prepare for more forthcoming fantastic tournaments lined up before the end of the year.
Elsewhere, handicap 4 James Ndunda was the man to beat after carding 78 gross to emerge the gross winner of the Larry Asego and Friends golf tournament played at the Machakos Golf Course in Machakos County on Saturday.
Handicap 15 John Kitaka was the overall winner on a count back score of 37 points, tying on the same score with second placed handicap 23 Ken Kisoi as handicap 27 Ben Siro with 36 points and handicap 10 Francis Njeru on 35 points were the runners’ u and third placed respectively.
Mercy Nderitu playing off handicap 33 carded a count back score of 36 points to emerge the Lady winner, also tying on the same score with runners up laced handicap 33 Magdalene Mueni.
The senior winner was handicap 24 Jones Nzau with a score of 32 points and handicap 26 Danson Ndichu went home with the Sponsor’s prize after playing 33 points.
Handicap 20 Kennedy Maruri also saw his way to the podium to claim the Guest winner’s prize after carding 36 points beating handicap 14 Solomon Atsiaya to the runners’ up lost on a 4 points difference.
The Subsidiary Men prize on 39 points and same for the lady on 36 points were won by handicap 39 Nick Ndonye and handicap 42 Judith Mbogo respectively.
Club Captain Edwin Saluny praised the players for showing up on large numbers for the day’s success and announced his farewell Club Captain’s week long Golf activities starting off from this coming Saturday 22nd and expected to run till Saturday 29th November.
