-As JGF announce 2 of its standout junior golfers, Kanana Muthomi and Yuvraj Rajput being invited to compete in two prestigious golf tournaments in the United States;

Kenya has named nine junior team that will represent the Country in the 2024 All Africa Junior Team Championship (AAJTC) set to be held at the Benoni Country Club (near OR Tambo International Airport) in South Africa, from 23rd, to 26th, April.
According to a Media release from Kenya Golf Union (KGU) signed by a Director Francis Wambua, Kenya is fielding a team of 4 boys and a team of 3 girls with 1 reserve slot for both genders and that the team were selected from the provisional squad which consisted of 12 Boys and 8 Girls based on their ranking in the JGF Order of Merit (OOM).
The Selected team includes the Boys team who are the 7 years old Krish Beiju Shah of Muthaiga,18 years old Andrew Wahome of Nyali,18 years old Kevin Anyien from Golf Park and 16 years old Junaid Manji of Muthaiga, with Ishaan Samani from Vetlab Sports Club being reserve.
The girls team has 17 years old Chanelle Wangari from Vetlab Sports,15 years old Bianca Ngecu of Muthaiga and 14 years old Audrey Gachora from Muthaiga with Belinda Wanjiru of Vetlab Sports Club to be the reserve.
Wambua said the provisional squad has been in camp training every Tuesday and Thursday from 4.30pm -6.30pm at the Windsor Golf Hotel & Country Club and held course practice on Sundays at different golf courses around Nairobi at Muthaiga, Karen, Royal Nairobi, Sigona, Thika Greens, Vet Lab and Limuru.
“The golf training has also included mental coaching and nutrition conducted by psychologist Kanyali Ilako and nutritionist Betty Okere respectively, “said Wambua.
The Director pointed out that the team will travel on April, 19th, for further training and acclimatization in South Africa.
The team will be accompanied by their Coaches John Van Liefland and C.J Wangai, Team Manager Vincent Mukiri, JGF Trustee, Convener Competitions and Golf Development Committee.
Others will include the Head of Delegation Regina Gachora who is Junior Golf Foundation (JGF) President and Philip Ochola the President, Golf Kenya.
The team manager Vincent Mukiri is confident that with the extended period of training, better results are expected.
“This year’s training started earlier compared to last year which was done over one month due to the recommendations we made from the experience in Uganda. The JGF Board accepted our request to start earlier and we are working towards having the elite squad training to be continuous throughout the year. This year we expect to finish first or second and qualify for the 2024 Toyota Junior Golf World Cup, “noted Mukiri.
Nyali Club Captain Dinesh Sasan on behalf of the Management Committee of the Club congratulated Andrew Wahome for his selection to the final Kenya Team for the 2024 at the Championship in South Africa.
“Well done to Wahome, our junior Member for flying the Nyali Golf club flag high nationally and internationally. We wish him the best of luck as he prepares to participate in this prestigious international event, “said Dinesh.
JGF President, Regina Gachora expressed her joy and appreciation for the good work put in by the juniors and the coaches.

Meanwhile JGF announced that 2 of its standout junior golfers, Kanana Muthomi and Yuvraj Rajput, have been invited to compete in two prestigious golf tournaments in the United States.
The 11 years old Muthomi who is a rising star in the world of junior golf, has received an invitation to Participate in the esteemed Mack Champ Invitational that will be held at the renowned Club at Carlton Woods from April 11th to 13th, 2024.
The Club at Carlton Woods, home to the first LPGA Major of the season, The Chevron Championships, provides the perfect backdrop for Kanana to demonstrate her prowess on the course.
The 14 years Yuvraj Rajput has also earned a coveted invitation to the prestigious Callaway Futures of Golf tournament, Sponsored by Callaway which will take place from July 15th to 17th.
As one of the most anticipated junior golf tournaments on the calendar, the Callaway Futures of Golf attracts top talent from around the globe.
Both Kanana and Yuvraj have demonstrated exceptional skill, determination, and sportsmanship throughout their burgeoning golf careers.

The JGF’s principal objective is to promote junior golf development in Kenya and encourage Boys and Girls between the age of 5 and 21 years to participate in competitions and is also responsible for promoting golf to juniors and developing their skills and enjoyment of the game, all in collaboration with the Kenya Golf Union (KGU) and the Kenya Ladies Golf Union (KLGU).
JGF Kenya has partnered with multiple organizations to increase the diversity of golf competitions, raise Kenya’s awareness on the global golf stage, and increase the facilities and resources dedicated to junior golf in Kenya.
