GOLF NEWS-Lawrence Gituma finally grabs the top spot in the Nomadic Tournament at the Sea-Link Mombasa Course.

-Gituma says it has been a long search for Victory but God of Golf and the Stars descended on his fate, as other more sterling results also witnessed at Muthaiga, Vetlab Sports, Nyali, Thika Sports and Kericho.

Coast Senior Golfer Lawrence Gituma finally grabbed the spot in the Nomadic Keya Golf Tournament played at the Sea Link Par 71 Mombasa Club Course in Mombasa County on Saturday.

The handicap 26 Gituma survived on account back score of 40 Stable ford points to emerge the overall winner of the tournament featuring a team of 150 players.
“In fact there was nothing spectacular, it was just about maintaining the fairways. But above all the God of Golf and the stars this time has been good to me today and am so proud and honored to emerge top. The patience to be at the podium has been long and it’s my day to reap today. I also thank my four ball partners who made our game at the course enjoyable,” said Gituma.
He had tied on the same score with handicap 23 Salim Taib who was the Man winner while handicap 17 Wilfred Achila on 39 points and handicap 12 Mburu Mwangi with 38 points were the runners up and third placed winners.
Sound City and Nomadic Golf Africa presented the day long Golf and Reggae Fusion, Pwani Edition tournament characterized by reggae songs, featuring Golfers from the home Club, Coast Golf Clubs and Others across the Country.

The Tournament that included other Sponsors Namely Hotel Sappire,1922 and Mombasa Cement saw, Orpha Wamaitha playing off handicap 19 card 36 points to win the Lady’s prize beating handicap 32 Constance Achila to the runners up slot by a two points difference.
The best guest winner on 37 points was handicap 26 Janet Wasike of Kericho Golf club and handicap 38 Mahmood Omar playing a tournament for the first time surprised golfers by bringing an excellent 40 points to win the Higher handicap prize.
Club Captain George Mokaya was delighted to have the tournament staged at the Club and praised players for turning up in large to make it successful.
“This has been a fantastic day of Golf and We as Club extends our sincere gratitude to the sponsors for coming up with such a beautiful Idea. We as Golfers shall continue to support your team as we built a strong Golfing Nation, “said Mokaya.
Nomadic Golf Tours and Events (NGTE) Founder John Mburu promised to continue supporting the club and also improve the status of Junior golfers.
“This out second edition here, we grateful for the large turn out and promise to come back and even make it bigger, “said Mburu.
