GOLF NEWS-Limuru Hosts KCB East Africa Golf Tour Action on Saturday;

The lush par 72 Limuru Country Club will play host to the tenth leg of the KCB East Africa Golf Tour this weekend as golfers graces the 18-hole course to battle for the top honors.
Over 200 golfers are expected to participate in the grueling tourney that is set to tee off at 6:54 am for the morning action before the afternoon’s tee that has been slated for 12:30 pm.

Limuru Country Club Captain James Githinji noted, “KCB has played a pivotal role in the growth of golf in Kenya, our involvement in the tour’s action speaks to our robust aim of elevating this game to an elite level. As Limuru Country Club, we are happy to participate in this competition and I want to assure golfers that our greens are well kept and the course is in good shape.”


The amateur series has so far traversed Nakuru, Nairobi, Mombasa, Kakamega, Nyeri, Nandi, Kakamega, Kericho, and Uasin Gishu Counties reaching over 1500 participants, and over 600 juniors through the clinics that ran concurrently with the tour.
KCB Group Director Marketing and Communications Rosalind Gichuru said, “Our unwavering support and commitment to the sport remains part of our larger citizenship and corporate social investment agenda, riding on our conviction that we must support our communities where we operate in to create a pool of talent that can compete in local, regional, and international competitions to position Kenya on the global map as a favorite golfing destination.”

The series will culminate in a grand finale on December 6, where top teams from each leg will meet to crown the overall winners who will participate at the 2025 Magical Kenya Ladies Open Pro-Am event at the PGA Baobab Course, Vipingo in Kilifi County.
In addition, the Club that produces the overall winners will receive a KShs. 1 million cash prizes geared towards a sustainability initiative that they are currently undertaking.
To further sweeten the competition, the Bank has partnered with Beulah City Ltd, a property firm, to give an apartment valued at KShs. 2.1 million as the hole in one prize for every during the 2024 tour.

KCB Bank footprint in sports support in the Country is expansive and cuts across various sports disciplines and the Bank has its Sports brand assets that include the KCB Women Volleyball Club, KCB Football Club and KCB Rugby Club besides other sports including Chess, Athletics, and Golf.
The long-standing tradition of sponsoring major sporting events in the country has seen the Bank pump millions of shillings in sponsorships over the years.
