GOLF NEWS-Mombasa businessman Wilson Rading clinch victory in the Crown Tee off Tournament at Nyali.

Mombasa businessman Wilson Rading carded a sterling 41 stable ford points to emerge the overall winner of the seventh edition of Crown Tee off golf tournament played at the par 71 Nyali golf and country club course in Mombasa county on Saturday.
Rading playing off handicap 25 posted the day’s best score to register his second major wins in 2025 following the recent Kilifi Investment golf tournament played at Vipingo Baobab ridge course, Kilifi county.
“I really humbled to be at the podium this even to celebrate this win which will be my second this year, a sign that Iam now good form and big thanks to all the organizers for the success of today’s activities. I played early in the morning with my four ball team where we had good time, though the weather was humid, the course playing well. I cannot say how I played but I think it was my day because most you here are also good golfers. Thank you all, “said Rading.
Crown paints sponsored the daylong 18 holes stable ford competition that brought together 162 players drawn from Coastal, up country golf clubs with guests and staffs of valid handicaps’.
South African Kenyan based youthful golfer Andrew Wahome currently on holiday and a Member of Nyali club, playing minus 2 carded a four over 75 gross to emerge the Best gross winner.
The Division A Men winner for those with handicap 5 to 12 was handicap 6 Mohdhar Abubakar on a count back score of 37 points after tying on the same score with runners placed handicap 10 Martin Ombura and John Orioro playing off handicap 10 returned 35 points for the third place.

Susan stokes playing off handicap 9 was the lady winner of the same category on 37 points beating the club lady captain Hilda Mugure to the runners up slot on a three points difference.
The Division B men winner for those with handicap 13 to 24 was handicapm16 Rajesh Kunverji on a count back score of 40 points, same with runners up placed handicap 15 Jon Stokes.
Handicap 21 Petronilah Kalee carded 35 points to win the Lady’s prize for those with handicap 21 to 24 and the Division C lady winner handicappers 25 to 54 was handicap 28 Rose Njogu on 40 points.
John Smith playing off handicap 24 went home smiling after clinching the Senior prize with 39 points, while handicap 27 Imani Mugava on 27 points and handicap 24 Salim Taib with 38 points were the Junior and Guest winners respectively.
Club Vice Chairman Michael Sangoro, flanked by his Captain Omar Lewa appreciated Crown paints for bringing the tournament to the club and players for honoring the day in large numbers.
“We are excited of the positive turn out despite many other activities around and promise to continue partnering with the sponsor for the benefit of our club members, “said Sangoro and Lewa.
Chief Executive Officer Crown paints, Dr. Rakesh Rao also thanked the club for the hosting the company with all players enjoying the day and promised to return make it bigger next year.
