GOLF NEWS-Mombasa Golf Club Team shines again after winning the 2025 Coast Inter-Clubs trophy at Nyali.

-After the TannaHill Shied 2025 victory at Royal Nairobi, the Mombasa team now records two back to back victory in less than two weeks.

It’s a celebration mood again as Mombasa Golf Club Team defies all odds to emerge the overall winners in this year’s annual Coast Inter-Clubs Competition Golf tournament played at the par 71 Nyali Golf and Country Club Course in Mombasa County over the weekend.

The team Led by its Chairman Lawrence Odhiambo recorded a total of 53 points to clinch the title making it second victory.

This is after their recent win of the 2025 Annual TannaHill Shield for the first time in over 100 years of trials at the Royal Nairobi Golf Club.
The victory came calling home with the combination course efforts comprising among others Eric Nyongesa, Martin Wahome, Tirus Githaiga, Ken Mwangi, Paul Koech, Willy Sang, Maina Githungu, Gurbux Singh, Gladys Kasi and Monica Kamundi.


“We have Veterans and Senior members in the team. And with all their skills and talents put together, nothing will really stop us from producing better results. And We are actually happy that now we have two outstanding trophies proudly displayed on walls of fame at our club house,” said Odhiambo.


Hosts Nyali Golf and Country Club team led by its Chairman Jayne Githere and Captain Omar Lewa were the runners up on 44 points while Kwale County’s Diamond Leisure club with 38 points and Kilifi County’s Malindi Golf Club Team on 9 points were third and fourth respectively.
The 18 holes’ tournament organized by Nyali Golf and Country Club attracted a total of 129 players from all the four Coast Clubs.
The Subsidiary team winners were Elvis Nduati and Danson Mutero who had 39 points, Engineer Willis Ingari and Tom Abwao were the runners up on 37 points while Lady Golfers Navinder Kaur and Nancy Gathunga brought 32 points to claim the third slot.


Nyali Golf and Country Club Chairman Jayne Githere and Club Captain Omar Lewa thanked the golfers for turning up to spice the tournament saying it brought together sportsmanship, networking and great learning experience from each other.
