An estimated 300 Golfers flex their muscles in this year’s Post-Connected Africa Summit 2024 Golf Tournament featuring at the par 71 Muthaiga Golf Club Course in Nairobi County this weekend.
The daylong 18 holes stable ford tournament that has attracted Golfers from the Private sector, Business leaders and Government representatives is organized by the ICT Authority.
It comes at the backdrop of the concluded Africa’s ICT premier event of the Connected Africa Summit 2024 which was held at Uhuru Gardens Nairobi from the 21st, to 24th, April.
Veteran Senior home Golfer Patrick Obath opens the course and the first to tee off from 6.30 AM in four ball team flight of Paul Gondi, Charles Ogallo, and James Mutahi.
The newly appointed Cabinet Secretary for the Ministry of ICT and Digital Economy, Dr. Margaret Nyambura, is among the other top leaders that includes the ICT Chairman Hon. Sylvanus Maritim, State Department of ICT and Digital Economy PS. Eng. John Tanui, Data Commissioner Margaret Kassait and ICT Authority head of HR Sharon Nyambura who tees off at 8.06 alongside Fenah Bosire, Mwangi Kiragu and a reserved slot.
Others expected are the Principal Secretary, State Department of ICT and Digital Economy, Eng. John Tanui will join other representative golfers ICT Authority, Telkom, Danco/Pavicon Group, Safaricom and NCBA Bank who were among other partners of the Summit in the tournament.
ICT Authority Chief Executive Officer Stanley Kamanguya said the tournament presents a unique opportunity for networking among like-minded ICT industry professionals and policymakers from across Africa which will offer another opportunity to carry on the discussions from the successful Connected Africa Summit 2024.
“Our goal is to continue fostering meaningful interactions in a relaxed environment after the Summit as we officially drive on the planning of Connected Africa Summit 2025 which we launched last Friday. We aim to showcase Kenya’s exceptional golfing experience. We eagerly await the tournament and extend a warm welcome to all our guests, “said Kamanguya.
The CEO noted that the continental Summit, under the Ministry of Information, Communication and Digital Economy paved way for the Nairobi Declaration and was a huge success.
Kamanguya said the tournament is an opportunity for key stakeholders to network, unwind, and build relationships outside the summit, and chat new paths in the ever-changing digital landscape, all while engaging in the Sport.
