GOLF NEWS-NCBA Golf Series 2025 Heads to Nandi, as Muthaiga Hosts KLGU Chairman’s (Jane Babsa) Prize.

The 2025 NCBA Golf Series will continue this weekend with the second event in the series set for the Nandi Bears Club on Saturday, February 1st.


The series is set to feature 159 events across Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, and Rwanda, an increase of 29 events from the 130 that were held in 2024 and seeks to provide a platform for golfers of all levels to showcase their skills and passion for the sport.
The Nandi Bears Club event is expected to attract top golfers from the region including those from Kakamega, Kericho and Eldoret clubs.


It will be offering them the opportunity to compete in the challenging, yet scenic 9-hole course with their sight on not only winning on the course but also booking their slots for this year’s grand finale early enough.


Four golfers stand to qualify for the grand finale and will include the overall winner, the men category winner, ladies’ category winner, the junior category winner.
Last week, the series teed off with the first event held at the VetLab Sports Club where John Odhiambo and Mary Karano emerged overall winners in the mens’ and womens’ gross categories respectively.
In the Nett categories, Njani Ndiritu claimed the Division One title after scoring an impressive 41 points while Nicholas Imbugwa, (42 points) and Anisya Ibragimova (43 points) claimed the top positions in the men’s and ladies’ Division Two categories respectively.

NCBA Group Managing Director John Gachora said, “It is such a pleasure to have the 2025 series feature at the Nandi Bears Club, one of the oldest clubs in Kenya and one with a rich history. It is very encouraging that golfers get to experience such a challenging course very early in the series and we hope that Saturday will be a day of superb golfing and networking.”
“This year we have expanded our involvement in golf in Kenya and we hope the golfers in Nandi get to experience that, whether at the professional level, the amateurs, or even the juniors,” he added.


This year, apart from the 2025 Golf Series, NCBA renewed key partnerships with the Kenya Golf Union (KGU) and the Junior Golf Foundation (JGF) while at the same time partnered with the Professional Golfers of Kenya (PGK) for the first time, with these partnerships aimed at advancing golf progressively at all levels, from junior players to seasoned professionals.

Meanwhile, the Kenya Ladies Golf Union (KLGU) Chairman’s Prize kicked off this Friday, 31st, January to Saturday 1st, February at the Muthaiga Golf Club.
The two-day tournament, which officially winds up the term of Jane Nzibo Babsa as KLGU Chairman, has attracted a field of over 200 lady golfers drawn from various golf clubs in the country who will battle it out for various prize categories.
