Carol Muigai Njeri, playing a handicap of 19, emerged victorious in the fifth leg of the ‘DTB Bank With Us’ Golf Tournament held at par 72 Thika Golf Club on Saturday.
Njeri outshone a field of over 100 golfers, amassing an impressive 41 points during the tournament to secure her the coveted title of the overall winner.
On the gent’s side, Jeff Karue, playing with a handicap of 17, secured the top spot as the Men winner with 39 points, displaying remarkable precision on the course.
Right on his heels was D.M.Chege, playing handicap 8, also with 39 points, clinching the Men’s Runners-up title and losing to Karue on countback.
Dr Nancy Ng’ang’a, playing with a handicap of 30, demonstrated her prowess in the women’s category, earning the title of Lady Winner with a commendable 37 points.
The competition was fierce as Wanjiru Kajesha, also with 37 points, emerged as the Runners-up Lady Winner, narrowly losing to Dr. Nancy on countback.
Catherine Mugane, playing with a handicap of 47, outshone the competition in the Staff division, claiming the Staff Winner title with an impressive 41 points.
Meanwhile, John Kinyua was celebrated as the Guest Winner, with 36 points on redraw, showcasing remarkable talent on the course.
Special accolades were also bestowed upon Simon Manambo, who achieved the Longest Drive in the men’s division, and Caro Muigai, who secured the Longest Drive in the ladies’ division, demonstrating their remarkable power and precision off the tee.
Speaking after the tournament, the tournament overall winner, Caroline Njeri, said, “I’m truly honored to have won the DTB Bank with Us Golf Tournament. It was a challenging competition, and I’m happy the hard work I have been putting in has come to pay off. This will act as a morale booster, and I just have to work more to make sure I secure my place among top golfers in this region.”
The DTB ‘Bank With Us’ Tournament not only highlighted the skill and dedication of the participants but also underscored the vibrant golfing community at Thika Golf Club.
