GOLF NEWS-Ogembo and Team Bask in Glory at KCB Golf Series in Nakuru.

-KCB hosted a juniors’ golf clinic on Sunday at the same venue in a bid to nurture the next generation of talent and additionally, a tree-planting drive was conducted to embed sustainability as part of the golf series.

The four-ball of team of Enock Ogembo, Eleanor Wambui, John Kibet, and M.M. Macharia returned a combined score of 114 points to emerge the overall team winners of the KCB East Africa Golf Tour held at the par-73 Nakuru Golf Club on Saturday.
Ogembo’s team triumphed over the team of Stephen Macharia, Micah Thuo, Javan Muriithi, and William Kariuki who returned a combined score of 111 points to be named the second-best team at the event graced by 228 players.
“I want to say that I am very happy for this win. We have been practicing in preparation for today’s tournament. I have a solid team. Tomorrow, we will be heading to another tournament to sharpen our skills. We will bring the cup home at the tour’s grand finale,” said Ogembo.
In the individual categories, peerless handicap 28 golfer Stephen Ibwaga returned an impressive 44 stable ford points to clinch the overall winner prize beating his closest challenger, handicap 19 Francis Wanjohi who was named the men’s winner with 41 points.
Eleanor Wambui who plays off handicap 15 had a fantastic outing on the course returning 38 points to bag the lady winner’s award, defeating a huge field that braved the rains at the lush course.
Handicap 11 Ibrahim Lande emerged the staff winner after carding an impressive 39 points edging out handicap 25, Anthony Mulisa on countback while handicap 21 Cassius Pennington rose to the occasion in the juniors’ category to win with 43 points.
Njoro golf club’s handicap 17 William Kariuki won the guest winner award with 41 points and Dr. Terra Saidimu claimed the longest drive in the men’s category while Florence Wafula won it in the ladies’ category.

And on Monday, 14th, July, KCB is expected to host over 100 caddies in a round of golf at the Nakuru Golf Club which is part of the Bank’s larger plan to onboard everyone as part of its regional series.
