GOLF NEWS-The 2023 Uganda Ladies Open Tournament preparation in top gear;

-Where over 200 Lady Golfers from the Home Country, The Region and beyond expected to grace the occasion;

Uganda Golf Club (UGC) Ladies Section is hosting the UGC Ladies Open Golf Tournament from 5th to 7th October 2023 in the biggest event on the UGC Ladies section Calendar epected to attract golfers from all over the country, as well as from neighboring Countries.

According to a latest press to the media, the UGC Lady Captain Wendy Angudeyo  said this will be the fifth edition of the UGC Ladies Open this year and that over the years, it has become bigger and better making it one of the ladies tournaments in Uganda that golfers look forward to.

“As the host club for the Uganda Open Golf Championship this year, we decided to push our UGC Ladies Open closer to the main event to give the ladies and golfers coming from upcountry and out of Uganda a better chance to participate in two Ladies Opens. As such, the UGC Ladies Open this year is a curtain raiser to the Uganda Open and we have already registered many ladies, juniors and amateurs for the Subsidiary event, “said Wendy Angudeyo.

Andudeyu said they expect to have over 200 golfers participating in the event in the different categories where the Ladies Silver category will be playing over 3 days, the Ladies Bronze category playing over 2 days and the Subsidiary category playing on the final day.

This year’s UGC Ladies Open has been made possible with support from our strategic partners and Sponsors, Pepsi, NCBA Bank, Emin Pasha Hotel, Fairway Hotel, Gorilla Heights Lodge, Case Medical Services and Kinyara Sugar Works.

Past winners of the event are Irene Nakalembe (2018), Martha Babirye (2019 & 2021) and defending champion Peace Kabasweka (2022).

Uganda Golf Club is an 18-hole course set right in the heart of Kampala City and the Club has held out to remain the last expansive stretch of greenery in the City, a welcoming haven in the bustling Capital.

Uganda Golf Club has all the Golf amenities including a driving range, as well as putting and chipping areas and in addition, there is a bar and restaurant to enjoy even when you just want to socialize.
