The 9th, Edition of ICEA LION King of the Course 2025 Golf Series heads to Nandi Bears Golf Club on Saturday which will be preceded by a Curtain-Raiser Club Night at Kericho Golf Club on Friday.
The Club that was established in 1928 and lies at an altitude of 1,890 meters above sea-Level will host a contingent of 140 Local golfers with over 30 additional golfers from Machakos, Thika,Greens, Ruiru, and Nanyuki Golf Clubs.
This event that follows the resounding success of earlier legs in Machakos, Thika Greens, Ruiru and Nanyuki.
It marks a significant milestone in the King of the Course Golf series reinforcing ICEA LION’s dedication to excellence and community engagement in the Rift Valley region.
The Golfers will grace the two tournaments in support of the ICEA LION annual Golf series, which will include two events set against the highland area of Lush Green Rolling Hills at the edge of the Great Rift Valley.
Kericho Club Golf Captain Anthony Cheruiyot said the Club is delighted to host ICEA LION King of the Course Series in the land of original tea with exciting prizes to be won.
Nandi Bears Golf Captain Isaac Kuto said preparations are in top gear to ensure a successful tournament at the Club this weekend.
“This is the sixth time Nandi Bears hosts the ICEALION King of the Course Golf series, and we are proud to be associated with ICEA LION in promoting the sport while bringing fun and opening up networks for the golfers. This edition promises an unparalleled golfing experience, featuring over 140 golfers drawn
from all over the Country. The 9-hole course is in pristine condition, with the fairways playing long and the greens holding thanks to the rains. There will be lots of food, Nyama Choma, Mursik, entertainment, and we look forward to hosting you all, “said Kuto.
ICEA LION golf Captain Joe Mboya Highlighted the series commitment to promoting Golfing talent, saying it’s all systems go for the big day.
He said that the LION King of the Course Golf series, confirmed that Nandi Bears-John Agui, the Grand Winner of the 2024 ICEA LION King of the course series, participated in the prestigious 2025 Lekoa Classic in South Africa on 28th, and 29th, March 2025 which was a great success, showcasing the global
opportunities afforded to competitors.
ICEALION group Chief Executive Officer Philip Lopokoiyit shares his enthusiasm for the series as a key pillar of the company’s customer engagement and brand enhancement strategies.

After the Nandi Bears Leg, all roads will lead to Nyali Golf and Country Club in Mombasa on 25th, October, 2025 for this year’s Grand Finale where the top winner from each Club will battle it out for the annual prize of a trip to participate in the Lekoa Classic 2026 golf tournament to be held in South Africa.
Elsewhere at Nyali Golf and Country Club course in Mombasa Country some 200 golfers will be rolling their sleeves for the Sunset golf tournament also set for tomorrow.
The day-long 18 holes’ tournament to be played on a stable ford off 95 % handicap will all be teeing off from the first tee box from at 6.10 am led by the first flight team of Kamami Njoroge, J. Kaguru, Gabriel Gakuo and Sandra Githere and those in the afternoon will start off at 12.02 pm with the team of D. Riaro, Carol Munyi, K’ Anjenjo and Alysa Jamal.
