Home Club’s Tony Mintos paired with Club mate Petronillah Kalee to grab this year’s annual Moyne Trophy in the Mixed Foursome Golf tournament played at the par 71 Nyali Golf and Country Club in Mombasa County on Saturday.

This is after the team pair beat a team of 108 colleagues after recording 38 stable ford points to emerge the overall team winners.
“It’s all about teamwork and collaboration with your partner. We executed our plans well on the course and eventually it paid off though, it was challenging playing amongst the finest today. We are thrilled about our victory and hope to retain the trophy next year, “said Mintos and Kalee.
The Moyne Trophy is a trophy awarded in a mixed foursome Golf tournament at the Club and it is part of an annual event that emphasizes fun, friendly competition, and the spirit of a championship.
Martin Ombura and Alice Wahome were the team runner’s up on a score of 37 points beating Dan Mugambi and Rose Njogu to the third slot by a single point difference.
The Subsidiary team winner on 37 count back score was Willie Mbote and Ken Mwige while the team pair of Tom Soigwa and Jabess Oduor brought a count back score of 32 points to claim the Subsidiary team runners up slot.
Club Chairman Jayne Githere and Captain Omar Lewa expressed their gratitude for the players in honoring the tournament and urged them to practice more in preparations for more competitive competitions lined up at the Club in the coming days.

Elsewhere at the nine-hole par 71 Sea Link Mombasa Golf Club Course also on the same day, handicap 9 Tirus Githaiga carded 71 nett to emerge the Division A winner of the February Mug supported by Chai GLD and the Club’s Vice Chairman Francis Muthamia.
Handicap 10 Martin Wahome on 73 nett and handicap 3 Victor Simbi with 74 nett were the runner up and third placed respectively.
Th Division B was won by handicap 17 Paul Koech who had a score of 66 nett while handicap 14 Mburu Mwangi sat second on 68 nett and taking the third slot was handicap 13 George Thama on 71 nett.
Club Captain George Mokaya playing off handicap 20 carded 63 nett to win the Division C category with handicap 24 Bernard Simiyu taking the runners up slot on 69 nett and handicap 23 John Mugo claimed the third slot after carding 71 nett.
The Division D on 61 nett was won by handicap 46 George Okong’o while handicap -2 Henry Kamau on 78 gross and handicap 24 Mohamed Ali with 69 nett were the Gross and Guest winners respectively.

For the February ladies Medal, handicap 20 Wanjiku Kinyeru emerged the Division A winner on 74 nett while handicap 16 Grace Kwamboka brought 75 nett to claim the runners up slot.
Handicap 24 Caroline Munyi returned 71 nett to win the C Division as the Club’s Lady Captain Susan Mwangi playing off handicap 30 carded 73 nett on count back, same score with handicap 51 Sweetarms Senteu who emerged the Division C winner.
