Pan-African sports investment company ‘Mchezo’ Limited is thrilled to announce its participation at the upcoming 14th, Edition of the East Africa Community (EAC) Inter-Parliamentary games, where it eyes fruitful engagements that will drive socio-economic growth in the region.
The games which will officially kick off on Saturday 7th, December in Mombasa, Kenya, are aimed at supporting regional integration through sports and is the second year in a row that ‘Mchezo’ will be part of the games as a sponsor.
The company, which invests in sports and is keen on fostering innovation, growth, entertainment and inclusivity, has partnered with the East Africa Legislative Assembly (EALA) team as well as the host team, Kenya, to help facilitate the success of the event.
‘Mchezo’ has provided various playing kits to the EALA team consisting of its Members of Parliament (MPS) and assisted the host country Kenya in preparing some of the venues in readiness for the games.
Mchezo Managing Director Ntoudi Mouyelo said that last year on the sidelines of these games they had productive meetings with some leading sports federations in the region such as Tanzania Basketball Federation (TBF) and the Federation of Uganda Basketball Associations (FUBA).
“Today, we are happy that these two federations are our partners where we work together to ensure sponsorship benefits go directly to sportsmen and women through our game-changing Locker Room Bonus initiative,” noted Mouyelo.
The Locker Room Bonus is a direct benefit to players that seeks to celebrate winners and further reward great performances and has been introduced by the company across multiple African countries and sports.
The money is paid directly to the players’ mobile money wallets immediately after winning a match.
This initiative was launched in Tanzania in partnership with the TBF last month, marking the first time in the national league’s history that players received winning bonuses.
On the sidelines of this year’s event, ‘Mchezo’ will pursue discussions on investing in Africa’s economic future through sports.
The ‘Mchezo” team led by Mouyelo will share ideas on aligning the millennium Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically in the area of women’s empowerment through sports, as a catalyst for socio-economic progress.
On the field, participating MPs from Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Burundi, Somalia, Democratic Republic of Congo, Rwanda and South Sudan will compete for honors in eight games.
These Countries will field their teams of MPs in tug of war, football, golf, athletics, netball, volleyball, basketball and darts.
Last year, Uganda maintained its crown from 2022 by emerging as the overall winner of the 13th, Edition of the games.
‘Mchezo’ is a company focused on sports and talent development as well as innovation with an aim of bringing dreams to life through diverse development projects across the continent.
Its vision is to ensure compliance, transparency, development of the sector and investment.
