SPORTS NEWS-KPC announces Ksh.1.3 Million sponsorship for Volleyball tournament in honor of its 50th anniversary;

Kenya Pipeline Company (KPC) has partnered with the Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) in sponsoring a three day Volleyball tournament dubbed “KPC@50 Volleyball Extravaganza” as part of its 50th anniversary celebrations.
The tournament will take place between 5th, to 7th, April at the Kasarani and Nyayo Stadium volleyball courts in Kenya’s Capital City of Nairobi and will feature players drawn from the top Men’s and Women’s National league teams as well as a battle of retired Volleyball National league legends.

Additionally, the tournament will feature exhibition matches between high School Boys’ and Girls’ teams drawn from the best performing Schools Countrywide.
KPC Human Resource and Administration General Manager Mrs. Dinah Kirwa lauded KVF for being instrumental in Managing and growing the Sport in the Country and said sports promotion and youth empowerment are at the heart of the Company’s commitment to Corporate Social Investment which is a key pillar of the Company’s operations and growth over the past five decades.


“This three day volleyball tournament rubberstamps our commitment to transform the lives of the youth in Kenya through sports promotion as a viable source of livelihood and national pride. We are delighted to work with KVF in organizing this tournament which will not only develop sports talent, but also secure the future of volleyball as an exciting sporting heritage in Kenya. Through this partnership, we hope to inspire future generations of players and build cohesion and excellence in the sport, “said Kirwa.
KVF Chairperson Charles Nyaberi appreciated KPC for their consistency and commitment to nurturing the volleyball heritage in Kenya for over four decades.


“KPC has been a dependable partner to the Federation for over 40 years. Their commitment to develop volleyball from the grassroots has seen the sport grow tremendously. This tournament will definitely inspire future stars as we grow the game together,” said Nyaberi.
KPC has invested in volleyball through its flagship women’s volleyball team, Kenya Pipeline Volleyball Club, which was established in 1984.
The club is a seven-time gold winner at the African championships and multiple time winners of the Kenyan Volleyball League.
