The team of Anthony Kimani, Gen Karanja, Christopher Kabugu and Julia Wangari returned a combined score of 118 points to emerge as the overall best team at the KCB East Africa Golf Tour in Ruiru Saturday.

“It is such a befitting moment for me and my team to be crowned as the winners of today’s event. We have been deliberate in our efforts to prepare ourselves for this competition. After today’s victory, we are going back to the course to train hard for December’s grand finale. It is my hope that we will emerge victorious, “said Kimani on behalf of the team.
The tournament graced by 290 golfers saw the team of Grace Miano, Milka Kirimi, Erastus Thoronjo, and Maurice Mbuthia return 115 points to be named as the second best team of the day.
Both teams booked their spots in the tour’s grand finale.

Handicap 25 golfer Lawrence Nganga, returned an impressive 43 stableford points to bag the overall winner award, beating handicap 20 Christopher Kabugu who returned 41 points to clinch the men winner award.
In the hotly contested ladies’ category, handicap 25 Milka Kirimi returned 40 points to be named as the lady winner.
Peter Ndichu playing off handicap 22 returned 39 points to claim the staff winner closely followed by Peter Mwaura handicap 12 who finished second with 35 points.
Handicap 19 Gathuri Wanjau returned 43 points to scoop the guest winner award while handicap 21 while Wilson Mwangi played 38 points to clinch the junior winner.
Naomi Wafula won the longest drive in the ladies’ category while her counterpart Frank Munyua claimed it in the men’s category.
Pauline Mungai claimed the nearest-to-the-pin title in the ladies’ category and Simon Gichuru took the honors in the men’s category.
