The team of Gloria Nanyonga, Dipak Patel, Nic Snyman, and Mathew Nviiri clinched top honors at the Uganda leg of the 2025 KCB East Africa Golf Tour after returning a remarkable combined score of 111 points.
The quartet emerged victorious at the scenic Lake Victoria Serena Golf Resort & Spa, outperforming a strong field that included the defending champions.
“It was a tough field, but we remained focused and complemented each other’s strengths throughout the round. Winning this leg means a lot, and we’re looking forward to representing Uganda at the grand finale in December, “said team member Snyman.
The four-ball team led by Peace Kabeseweka who lifted the title last year settled for second runners-up slot after posting 105 points in a closely contested showdown.
In the individual staff category, Agnes Mayanja claimed the title of overall KCB staff winner, showcasing consistency and finesse throughout her round.
The tournament also featured thrilling challenges on the course where the longest drive of the day was powerfully struck by Michael Koima, a true testament to his driving prowess.
Meanwhile, the nearest to the pin contest displayed exquisite precision with the winner landing their shot just inches from the cup, thrilling the gallery of spectators.
KCB Bank Managing Director Uganda Edgar Byamah commended the golfers for their outstanding performance.
“Some evenings shine with more than just twilight and tonight is one of them. On behalf of KCB Bank Uganda, I extend my heartfelt thanks to all the golfers who took part in today’s tournament. Your dedication to the game and the sportsmanship you exhibited are truly admirable. Every participant is a winner for contributing to the greater purpose of this tournament, “noted Byamah.
The KCB East Africa Golf Tour has already made impactful stops across various counties in Kenya, including Mombasa, Nairobi, Kericho, Nyanza, Kiambu, Nandi, and Laikipia.
Regionally, Uganda becomes the second East African country to host the tour following a successful event in Burundi.
The next leg of the tour is scheduled for July 12, 2025 in Nakuru County, as the tournament continues its mission to promote regional integration and nurture golfing talent across East Africa.
