Golfers sharpen their golf sticks to grace the week long Captain (Edwin Saluny) Prize 2025 Golf tournament to be played at the 9-hole Machakos Golf Club Course in Machakos County.
The Golfers of all generations will be set for the week-long action through a celebration of Golf, friendship, and community spirit that will bring together Golfers from across the region.
This is the highlight of his tenure in the upcoming Captain’s Prize Week, scheduled from 24th to 29th November 2025, featuring a curtain raiser, caddies, Men’s Subsidiary, Junior open and winds up the last two days with the Captain’s prize.
Advocate Edwin Saluny, the current Captain of Machakos Golf Club, has brought a refreshing blend of professionalism, inclusivity, and vision to the game.
A practicing Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (MCIArb), Saluny’s leadership reflects the same discipline, fairness, and clarity of purpose that define his legal career.
“My focus has been to build on our strong traditions while opening new pathways for growth. Machakos Golf Club is more than a club, it’s a family,” says Saluny.
Since assuming captaincy, he has been widely praised for fostering unity and cohesion within the club, acting as a bridge between the Senior members who have long shaped its legacy and the younger generation bringing fresh energy and ideas.
His approach has strengthened relationships, encouraged mentorship and created an environment where every member feels valued and involved.
Under his stewardship, Machakos Golf Club has experienced renewed vibrancy from stronger partnerships with sponsors to greater participation in tournaments and community initiatives.
