The Kenya Amateur Golf Championship (KAGC) series is underway at Karen Country Club in Nairobi for the NCBA Karen Challenge 2026, where a stellar field of amateur golfers are battling over 54 holes in one of the season’s most anticipated tournaments.
Scheduled through to Sunday 9th, August 2026, the championship has attracted a full field of elite amateur golfers from Kenya and across the region, underscoring its growing stature on the KAGC calendar.
The tournament will be played over three rounds of 54 Holes stroke play, with only the top 33 players and ties advancing after the second round to Sunday’s final round where a total prize purse of Ksh. 500,000 is up for grabs.
Leading the field is Nyali Golf and Country Club’s Adel Taufig Balala and Muthaiga’s Jay Sandhu who recently championed the Kenya Swing Triple Action Tournaments in the 104th Match Play and the 49th Stroke Play respectively.
They will both face stiff competition from some of the Country’s finest amateurs, including John Kamaisi, Kayden Wissanji, Shashwat Harish, Junaid Ayaz Manji, Mwathi Gicheru, Kamoza Longwe, James Kamenchu, Maahir Patel and Amos Odongo, among many others who have enjoyed strong performances throughout the KAGC season with Rwanda’s Dusabe Felix and Jean D’Amour Hitayezu.
The tournament has also attracted an impressive international contingent, highlighting the regional appeal of the KAGC circuit.
Players from Rwanda, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Burundi, Austria, South Africa, India, Serbia, Great Britain, and China will compete alongside Kenya’s leading amateurs, promising three days of high-quality championship golf.
Beyond the race for the title, valuable KAGC Ranking points will be on offer as players continue in their quest to qualify for the season-ending championships.
With the competition entering its decisive stages, every stroke at Karen Country Club could prove crucial in shaping the rankings heading into the final stretch of the season.

Played in accordance with the Rules of Golf, the championship is open to amateur golfers with a verified WHS Handicap Index of 12.0 and below, reinforcing its status as one of Kenya’s premier amateur tournaments.
