As the junior golf season gathers momentum, the KC Junior Golf Series has unveiled a new integrity campaign anchored on the message ‘Champions Play The Right Way.’
The campaign, captured in a vibrant 2026 poster released this week, is aimed at instilling core values of honesty, respect, discipline and sportsmanship among Kenya’s next generation of golfers.
The poster, breaks down good conduct into four simple pillars that every junior player is expected to follow during competition.
Juniors are reminded to stay behind players who are hitting and to play their shot only when it is their turn.
The guideline is designed to promote safety and fair play, especially in large junior fields where several age categories play together.
Players are urged to be quiet when others are playing, to show good sportsmanship and to respect players, officials and volunteers.
The KC Junior Golf Series official Naeem Pasta says this culture of respect is central to developing character both on and off the course.
In line with the new Junior Golf Foundation (JGF) Scoring Guidelines released earlier, the campaign emphasizes accurate scorekeeping where Juniors must mark scores carefully, confirm scores with their marker after every hole, and ensure all scorecards are correct before signing that comes at a time when scoring integrity has been flagged as a key area for reform.
Players are asked to be ready when it is their turn, move promptly between shots and keep up with the group in front while Pace of play has been a major concern in junior tournaments, and the new message seeks to reduce delays and improve tournament flow.
At the bottom, the poster carries a powerful reminder that Great golfers are known by their honesty, respect and sportsmanship under the four values of Honesty, Respect, Discipline and Sportsmanship, that are also highlighted as the foundation of the KC Junior Golf Series, whose tagline is ‘Developing The Next Generation of Golfers.’
The campaign comes just days after the Junior Golf Foundation (JGF) issued detailed scoring guidelines that require players to mark each other’s cards, submit interim scores to marshals after every three holes, and file final cards within 15 minutes of finishing a round.
Together, the two initiatives signal a coordinated effort to professionalize junior golf in Kenya and align it with international standards.
The Official Pasta said in Mombasa on Saturday that the poster will be displayed at all tournament venues, clubhouses and junior clinics across the Coast region to serve as a constant visual reminder to players, caddies, parents and coaches.
The 2026 series has attracted growing participation from juniors aged 7 to 18, with events scheduled at various courses in the region including Mombasa, Nyali, Diani’s Diamond, Malindi and Vipingo.
Organizers hope that by embedding values alongside technical skills, they will produce not just better golfers, but better ambassadors for the sport.
