Diani’s Diamond Leisure Golf Course was turned to a busy day during the third leg of the 2026 NCBA U.S. Kids Mombasa Local Tour in South Coast, Kwale County on Sunday.
This was part of the ongoing six-leg Coast Circuit Junior Tour touching Mombasa, Kilifi and Kwale counties where amidst the noisy and beautiful day, Parents, grandparents and fans doubled as caddies, gave yardages, wiped tears, hugged winners, read greens and carried water bottles under the Kwale’s Coastal sun for the youngsters.
And the day delivered drama, big scores and small wonders in equal measure over 18 holes and 9 holes for the future stars both boys and girls aged 6 to 18 years old.
In the blue-chip Boys 11 years’ category, the man of the day emerged, Cyril Theuri Wamweru fired a stunning 86 gross to topple Craig Fassler’s 89 gross and Areez Pasta’s 107 gross for third place.

U.S. Kids Tour Director Kailesh Chauhan was delighted with the success of the tournament and said the numbers prove the progress so far.
“This has been the most competitive leg so far, scores are dropping, the kids are competing, not just participating and the parent-caddie model is building family golf culture. We now have three more legs and the Tour will be tough. Thank you all,” said Chauhan.
Diamond Leisure Junior Representative Silva Kampa said hosting the tournament was a great honor and they are happy to host the future of Kenyan golf.
“Our course was set up fairly but it tested them. We saw parents on the bag, kids fighting back after double bogeys, and real sportsmanship. For us, junior golf is the future of membership. We thank NCBA, U.S. Kids, and all Coast clubs for making the six-leg tour possible,” said Kampa.
NCBA Representative Dixon Masha praised the Coast growth saying they are proud to see the Tour growing.
“This is what grassroots golf is about. Seeing a 6-year-old card 50 gross and an 11-year-old shoot 86 tells us our investment in U.S. Kids Golf is bearing fruit. The Coast has always had talent, now it has structure. We will continue supporting these junior pathways across Kenya,” said Masha.
The Tour started on 27th, September at Vipingo Baobab in Kilifi County, the second leg was played at Nyali Golf & Country Club in Mombasa County on 4th October.
After Diamond Leisure, the fourth leg now moves to Nyali again on 1 st, November, then back to Diamond on 15 th, November and conclude on 22nd November at Vipingo Baobab.
