-Shah beats 205 golfers at Nyali, Khanyereri takes command in the Ladies open at Thika greens and Kimanzi takes command at Railways;

The sixth leg of the 2023 NCBA Golf Series took place at VetLab Sports Club on Saturday marking a momentous occasion as the club celebrated its centenary milestone.
Despite the chilly morning weather, the event saw an impressive turnout of 252 golfers who showcased their skills and competed fiercely for top honors.
At the end of the play, it was home player Junior Maina Iraki, playing off handicap 6, who displayed remarkable talent and skills to emerge as the overall gross winner of the tournament with an impressive score of 76 gross.
In the Men’s gross category, Chrispine Owuor, playing off a handicap of 4, showcased exceptional golfing prowess to claim victory with a score of 76 gross, beating Watson Burugu, playing off handicap 2, who secured the second position with an equally commendable score of 79 gross.
At the same time, Mary Karano, playing off handicap 12, stood out in the Ladies gross category, capturing the top spot with a score of 90 gross.
Not far behind was junior golfer Navya Nagda, who demonstrated great skills by hitting 91 gross.
In the Nett Categories, Jane Wokabi, playing off handicap 26, secured the top position with an impressive score of 70 nett points.
She beat handicap 35 Ann Njuguna, who secured the second position having managed similar scores as Wokabi.
Among the men, former legislator Musikari Kombo, playing off handicap 27, claimed the top spot in the nett category with an impressive score of 66 points. Moses Kimutai, playing off handicap 23 secured the second position with an equally impressive score of 66 nett.
Meanwhile, the juniors’ category saw Nathan Mwangi, playing off handicap 8, demonstrate his golfing prowess by securing victory with a score of 81 gross.
In other categories, junior golfer Nathan Mwangi and Ann Mwangi impressed once again by emerging as the winners in the Longest Drive challenge among the men and ladies, respectively.
Vincent Landa claimed the Nearest to the Pin challenge, demonstrating remarkable accuracy in his shots.

Following the successful completion of the VetLab event, the series now moves to its next leg, which will be held on Saturday, 1st July 2023, at Karen Country Club.

Handicap 20 Rishi Shah beat a team of 205 golfers to emerge the overall winner at the par 71 Nyali Golf and Country club course during the Club Chairman’s (Kamami Njoroge) and Friends golf tournament played on Saturday.
Shah comfortably took the top prize after carding an excellent 45 points in the day long 18 holes tournament dominated by the Cow Boy fashion theme.
It was jointly sponsored by EABL, Jubilee Insurance and Nyali Capital limited among others and organized by the Club Chairman Kamani Njoroge who said that the aim of the event was to unite golfers by bringing them close to make friends.
Handicap 30 Janet Wasike brought a count back score of 42 points to win the runners up prize after tying on the same score with third placed handicap 15 Martin Wahome.
William kaguta playing off handicap 2 was the gross winner on a three over par 74 gross and handicap23 Edgar Munene who had a score of 41 points was the Guest winner.
The day’s best high handicappers’ winner was handicap 36 Samson Ng’eno who brought a score of 44 points while handicap 26 Kamami Njoroge (The Club Chairman) on 24 points and handicap 20 Tanraj Singh with 23 points were the best first and second nine winners respectively.
At Thika Greens Golf Resort Club Course handicap 4 Serah Khanyereri from Royal Nairobi Golf Club was crowned the Ladies Champion by carding three over par 75 gross on count back to win the overall gross prize in the 2023 Ladies Open golf tournament played at the 18 hole par 72 Thika Greens Golf Resort in Kiambu County that attracted top leading lady golfers across the Country.
“The Course was challenging especially with tricky pin hole positions and chilly weather but trained well sharpening my putting and swings that brought this good results today. Am so happy for the victory and looks forward to more,”said Khanyereri.
Khanyereri one of the top lady golfers in the Country had tied on the same score with Kiambu Golf club’s Joyce Wanjiru playing off handicap 4 who won the division A win on 75 gross.
Golf Park’s handicap 5 Faith Ontune with 77 gross was the runners up and Vetlab’s handicap 4 Mercy Nyanchama on 78 gross claimed third place.
The Division A winner on 64 nett was won by handicap 21 Jane Koech with handicap 20 Ann kanyori claiming the runners up slot on 68nett and handicap 10 Ashley Awuor was third with 69 nett.
Esther Thal playing off handicap won the Division B gross prize on 98gross and handicap 28 Rebecca Njui carded a count back score of 100 gross to win the runners up, tying on the same score with third placed handicap 31 Rehema Okal.
Handicap 35 Mercy Murage was the nett category winner of the B division with 72 nett while handicap 34 Lydia Otieno on 72 nett and handicap 29 Brenda Kimeli with 73 nett settled for the runners up and third places respectively.
The Division C winner was won handicap 38 Ann Gathua who posted 41points beating handicap 40 Susan Kagundo to the runners up on a single point difference and handicap 43 Rose Gathi carded 38 points to take the third slot.
And at the Kenya Railways Golf Club in the Capital green City of Nairobi, in Nairobi County, handicap 3 Fidhelis Kiamanzi stood tall after emerging the overall winner of the Tatua Syngenta Golf tournament sponsored by Syngenta.
Kimanzi caded 42 points in the 18 holes tournament to beat handicap 14 Philip Wainaina to the Man winner slot by a three points difference while handicap 28 Onyango Obiero was the runners up on 38 points.
Handicap 5 Paul Orawa won the gross prize after cardin 82 gross with handicap 13 Taariq Jamal carding 36 points for the runners up slot and Semenye Jimmy playing off handicap 22 was the best Junior with his 29 points.
The Lady’s prize was won by handicap 20 Night Doris who had 35 points while handicap 27 Florence Kamau with 34 points was the runners up while the Sponsor’s Guest winner’s prize was claimed by handicap 29 Anne Mwebi after recording her 31 count back points.
The first nine prize on 21 points and the second nine prize with 22 points were won by Elijah.G.wachira and Jack Kitulu respectively.
