The tactician left star player and Captain Edith Wisa on the bench as he expects a tougher fixture on Saturday.
Speaking after his win, KCB Coach Japheth Munala said, “I am very happy for today’s win. We started well in the first half, but the second half was below average. We made a lot of mistakes especially in our serving and receiving that could have been costly. We rested captain Wisa because we expect difficult matches tomorrow and Sunday.”

Despite the win, coach Munala said the team has a lot to work on for the upcoming fixtures. He quipped the team is not as clinical as it should be considering they have not played since the Club championship held in Tunisia last month.
“We are still not a hundred percent considering we have not played competitively for a long time. We take the win, but we are going back to the drawing board to strategize and prepare for the remaining fixtures,” noted Munala.
KCB will resumed action on Saturday against Detectives DCI who saw off Postbank at the same venue earlier in the day.

The KCB Women’s Volleyball team is considered the oldest Volleyball Club and the team, which was established in 1989 currently participates in the Local Kenya Volleyball Federation League and also in African competitions including the Club Championships.
The team has a well spring of talent with its players representing the country with Malkia Strikers in various international competitions.
It is coached by Japheth Munala and Captained by Edith Wisa.
The Bankers were crowned the 2022 African Club Champions in Kelibia, Tunisia following a successive run dominating local rivals Kenya Prisons and Kenya Pipeline and also North African sides to clinch the prestigious trophy.
KCB players Mercy Moim, Edith Wisa and Sharon Jepchumba were named best outside attacker, best outside hitter and Most Valuable player respectively in the competition.
Current technical Advisor Paul Bitok together with Mercy Moim led the KCB Women’s Volleyball Team that won the African Club Championship title in 2006.
