The NCBA Great Rift Valley Championship golf tournament will take place from Friday 14th to Sunday 16th February 2025 at the stunning Great Rift Valley Lodge in Naivasha, Kenya.
This year’s tournament will showcase top golf talent, featuring 115 players competing in a 54-hole stroke play format.

In a highly competitive lineup, all participants will compete in the first two rounds, after which the top 33 players, including ties, will advance to the final round on 16th February 2025.
Recognized as a World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR) event, the championship offers players the chance to earn valuable ranking points while vying for the coveted title.
The tournament will adhere to the Rules of Golf as approved by R&A Rules Limited, alongside the Kenya Amateur Golf Championship (KAGC) Local Rules and any additional local regulations set by the Tournament Committee.

NCBA Group Managing Director John Gachora said, “This leg of the KAGC series reflects our commitment to growing the sport and providing a platform for golfers to showcase their talent. Our continued partnership with the Kenya Golf Union is to make the series attractive enough for both the rising golfers and the elite amateurs. We look forward to an exciting competition this weekend as golfers compete to take charge of the leaderboard early in the series.”
Kenya Golf Union Vice Chairman and Tournament Director Chris Kinuthia shared his excitement for the upcoming event, saying, “We are thrilled to host a competitive field for the NCBA Great Rift Valley Championship. This tournament is a fantastic opportunity for both elite golfers and rising stars to sharpen their skills and gain essential experience. I would like to express my heartfelt appreciation to all the players for their continued support of this series.”

This year’s prize purse is set at Kenya shillings 225,000 and players to watch include defending champion Elvis Muigua, as well as Daniel Kiragu, Sammy Mulama, and Josphat Rono with notably, two female competitors Kellie Gachaga from Karen Country Club and Diana Mbuba from Royal Nairobi Golf Club who will also participate.
The winner of this year’s event will walk away with Ksh. 55,300.

The two days’ tournament that starts off on Friday with Men and Ladies to join on Saturday as subsidiaries, has drawn the golfers from the home club, Nyali, Diamond Leisure, Vipingo, Malindi and friends with guests of the captain from up country clubs with valid handicap index,including the wider Nairobi.

The dress code on day one Friday is Red and Black, day two is Blue and white during day and a touch of Red in the evening.
The first flight to tee off at 7.50 am on the first day (Friday) is Fidelis Odumo, S. Dodhia, R. Dodhia and A. Kioko while the last at 1.50 pm will be that of Henry Kamau, Ndiga Kithae, Dominic.Makau and Charles Kariuki.
