Canadian based Kenyan Faried Ismael carded 39 stable ford points to emerge the overall winner of the Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) DhowCSD golf tournament played at the par 71 Nyali golf and country club course in Mombasa county on Saturday.

The victory was a great moment for the 74 years old Mombasa born golfer who is a retired Automobile Businessman and an ardent golfer coming home in every six months for the last ten years, escaping the current cold in Canada to not only meet family relatives but play golf at his Nyali home club and also meet age mate friends.

The handicap 24 golfer noted that it was a great moment from the victory after many unsuccessful trials and especially playing at the Nyali challenging course with unpredictable winds but extremely fine course.

‘’The wind was very strong in the afternoon, but my putting was good, though the course was also challenging like no other and the Fairway playing fast with every hole presenting a battle. But It was not just about all the challenges, it was the strategy, precision, and mental fortitude I put in that proved my game to survive and emerge victorious. “said Faried.

He had tied with handicap 18 Justine Ongere who was the Men winner beating handicap 22 to the runners up slot by a single point difference.
Central bank of Kenya (CBK) Dhow CSD sponsored the day long 18 holes’ tournament that brought 210 golfers from the home club, other Coast golf clubs, Staffs from the sponsor and guests from other up country clubs with valid handicaps.
