GOLF NEWS-Matano floors large field to emerge overall winner of NCBA Golf Series at Thika sports;

Thika Sports Club’s David Matano floored a strong field of 256 golfers to emerge the overall winner for his home club’s leg of the NCBA Golf Series held over the weekend at the Club course.
Playing off handicap 3, Matano scored an impressive 32 stableford points, to triumph on the day.

In the Men’s gross category, Simon Ndung’u, playing off handicap 6 scored 31 stableford points, solidifying his position as the top contender in the category while handicap 11 Eng. K Chege who scored 27 stableford points was the runners up.
In the Ladies’ Gross category, Naomi Kimata playing off a handicap of 13, emerged as the champion with a remarkable score of 27points and coming in second was Winnie Mugo who scored 19 points.
The junior category witnessed a remarkable display of talent, with Garcia Kimemia emerging as the champion.


In other results, Ndegwa Thuku claimed the Longest Drive title in the Men’s category, while Lucy Maina emerged victorious among the ladies.
At the same time, Gibson Singen showcased remarkable precision, securing the Nearest to the Pin title.
NCBA Group Deputy Director for Asset Finance James Karinga said, “We are honored to be a part of this incredible event and witness the outstanding performances displayed by the golfers today. These events holds immense importance for NCBA as it provides us with a unique opportunity to directly interact with our esteemed customers, strengthening our relationship and understanding their needs.”
This event marked the fourth leg of the series, which commenced in March of this year, attracting avid golfers from across the region.
The NCBA Golf Series serves as a platform to promote the sport of golf across the East African region.
