-As U.S. Kids NCBA Nairobi Fall Local Tour wraps up successfully at Sigona;

The NCBA Bank sponsored Windsor Classic concluded on Sunday at the par 72 Windsor Golf Hotel and Country Club,Nairobi,Kenya, with Elvis Muigua emerging victorious, marking his third consecutive win in the Kenya Amateur Golf Championships (KAGC).
The Kiambu Golf Club player was on top of his game throughout the three day tournament, securing the title by a margin of two shots over his closest competitor, Michael Karanga.
Muigua’s stellar performance was marked by three crucial birdies at the first nine’s 3rd, 6th, and 9th holes to cancel an earlier bogey at the 4th.
And despite dropping a shot at the 14th, 17th and 18th, he still managed to close the day level par 72 which gave him a three rounds total of 4-over-par 220 gross to beat a team of 134 participants.
Reflecting on his achievement, Muigua attributed his success to a stable swing and valuable lessons gained during his time in South Africa.
“My swing is stable at the moment and good, plus I got some lessons when I was in South Africa which is really helping my game, “said Muigua.
In the closely contested battle, Karanga’s displayed remarkable resilience despite facing setbacks during the final round.
Despite recording five birdies on the front nine, bogeys on the first, sixth, and seventh holes proved costly, ultimately securing him the second position with a final score of 222 gross.
Claiming the third spot was Ebill Omollo of Vetlab Sports Club with a total score of 227 while Joyce Wanjiru of Kiambu Golf Club was the highest ranked female at the tournament, finishing sixth overall.
This was the third Kenya Golf Union (KGU) organized tourney in this year’s Kenya Amateur Golf Championship (KAGC) Calendar after the Sigona Bowl played from January 26th to 28th, at the Sigona Golf Club and the inaugural Great Rift Valley Championship played in February where both was won by youthful Golfer Elvis Muigai.
The KGU calendar this year has 28 legs with the next action set for the Muthaiga Open at Muthaiga Golf Club from March 8th to 10th and the last one will be the Nyali Open at Nyali Golf and Country Club in Mombasa County set for December 13th to 15th.
This year will also see the return of Diani Masters that will be played the Diani’s Diamond Leisure Golf Resort in South Coast of Mombasa, Kwale County from October 18th, to 20th after a four year absence.
Meanwhile, the U.S. Kids NCBA Nairobi Fall Local Tour concluded at Sigona Golf Club, marking another successful event aimed at nurturing young talent in golf.
Sponsored by NCBA Bank, the tournament attracted 155 budding golfers aged between 6 and 18 years, competing in various age-appropriate categories.
In the girls’ divisions Njeri Waweru, Vhiliper Perpetua, and Ranish Hilder, secured the top three spots in the 15-18 year old category with scores of 116, 121, and 122 strokes, respectively, on the par-72 course.
In the 13-14 year old category, Amelia Sheikh emerged as a dominant force, finishing with an impressive score of 90, closely followed by Yolanda Yu and Marya Nyambura Nguitigu with 91 and 92, respectively.
Young golfers aged 11-12 also showcased their skills, with Kanana Muthomi leading the pack with a stellar performance, finishing with a score of 76 strokes and was followed by Siqian Yu with 87 strokes and Ashley Muyela with 88 strokes.
In the boys’ divisions, Jabari Ongwae asserted his dominance in the 15-18 year old category, securing a commanding victory with a score of 97 strokes.
Meanwhile, Yuvraj Rajput demonstrated exceptional skill in the 13-14 year-old category, finishing atop the leaderboard with a commendable score of 77.
Among the younger age groups, Ishaan Patel and Paren Reel emerged as promising talents in the 10-year-old and 9-year-old categories, respectively.
Patel finished with a score of 41 strokes while Reel finished with 42 strokes playing a round of 9 holes.
Speaking during the event, NCBA Deputy Director and Group Head of Brands Marketing Jacquie Muhati said that the event provided a platform for young golfers to showcase their skills, fostering a competitive and supportive environment for talent development.
