GOLF NEWS-Rookie Lisa Apukey surprises Golfers by shining in this year’s Sense Getaways and Events (SGE) Golf Day at Karen;

Rookie Lisa Apukey, a new Golfer whose first interaction with a Golf club was three months ago emerged the overall winner of this year’s Sense Getaways and Events (SGE) annual corporate Golf Day at the Karen Country Golf Course in Nairobi on Friday.

The Golfer carded a sterling 44 points, beating a field of over 200 golfers in the day long 18 holes tournament and also scooped two nights and return flight from Zanzibar’s Breezes Resort & Spa.
According to Apukey, her first encounter with Golf was during the Kenya Open where she followed elite Local and International players and was intrigued by the game.
“During this year’s Kenya Open, I was fascinated by the Sport and decided to try it three months ago. This is my first win ever and I am really excited, “said Apukey.


She took the overall title with a one-point margin from Samuel Kamau who had carded 43 points while Jackline Wambui beat Ibrahim Lande on Countback with 41 to finish third with Lande taking home the fourth prize.

Steve Lande made it to the main prize list with 39 points for the fifth prize, with Christopher Lango and David Tyrrell claiming the nines on 23 and 22 points.
Peter Mwangi and Akinyi Gitonga were honored for the longest drive, while Joe Wachiuri and Atsango Lwande were the closest to the pin.
