GOLF NEWS-The 2023 Grand Finale of the 2023 International Pairs Series in Kenya kicks off;

The Grand Finale of the 2023 International Pairs Series in Kenya is set to be held on Friday, 1st September 2023 at the Windsor Golf Hotel & Country Club in Capital City, Nairobi.
The 35 Pairs constituted from the top four pairs, best ladies pair or mixed pair in 7 qualifiers held across the Country will be on the tee in the series whose top prize is a fully paid for golfing trip to Portugal.

The top 3 pairs in the Grand Finale qualify for the World Final that is set for the 6th to 10th November at the Royal Obidos Spa & Golf Resort and Bom Sucesso Resort, Portugal.


The first qualifier was held on 8th July 2023 at Muthaiga Golf Club, followed by qualifiers at Nyahururu Country Club, Kericho Club, Great Rift Valley Golf Resort, Windsor Golf Hotel & Country Club, Nakuru Golf Club and the last event at Vetlab Sports Club on 26th August 2023.


The series has seen a total of 314 pairs brace their shots for the lucrative slots.
This is the fourth time that Kenya is participating in the International Pairs from the start in 2019 with a break in 2020 due to the Corona Pandemic.
Seven pairs from Kenya have since participated in the fully paid trip to the


Mike Karanga & Steve Kiaro, James Kamenchu & Anthony Murage and Bhamra Bilu & Romy Sandhu participated in the finals in 2019 at Penina Golf Resort, Portugal.
In 2022, Saawan Shah & Jay Varia, Chand Shah & Kush Shah, Julius Rono & Eric Mutai and Steve Kiaro & David Gitao participated in the finals at La Cala Golf Resort, Spain.
The pair of Chand Shah & Kush Shah finished as runner ups in the World Finals just one point from the winners from Namibia-Johannes Damon and Hylton Villet.


James Kamenchu, Erick Mutai and Julius Rono are part of the field on Friday seeking another chance to qualify for the exciting, friendly and hugely prestigious event.

Elsewhere, Over 280 golfers drawn from different clubs in the country are expected to converge at the par 73 Ruiru Sports Club Golf Course for the legendary tournament on Saturday, 2nd, September, 2023, ADDS,BRIAN JAYSINS-OXYGEN PR.
Legendary golfers, a multi-disciplinary group of professionals brought together by the beautiful game of golf will compete for the top prizes as organizers promise a fun-filled outing from morning and crowning it with live band music in the evening.
The 18-hole course will see action tee off at 6:40 am in the morning, while the afternoon tee will start at 10:50 am to 1:30 pm at the event powered by among others Edlon Group Limited, Corporate Masters, Bransons Kitchen, Grandstart, AfrInsight Consulting.


“We are delighted to host some of the biggest names in the sport this weekend during the legendary golf day in Ruiru. We have partnered with some of the top corporate brands to organize this amazing
tourney that will see the winners grab top prizes. Our course is in good shape, and the greens offer an enabling environment for players to compete,” said Ruiru Club Captain, Jessy Ndegwa.
Tabitha Kiragu an ardent golfer who was crowned the overall winner of the inaugural IPF golf tournament last weekend at the same venue having carded an excellent score of 42 stable ford points will be one of the key players to watch including single handicap long hitting Emmanuel Wachira, Mary Wambui and David Kibui.
“I am looking forward to picking up from where I left last weekend having won over 190 top amateurs. It is going to be a very tough battle against the best golfers in the country, but I believe with my experience and good run of form I will emerge victorious in this tourney. My swing is there, and I intend to make a statement right from the onset,” said Ruiru-based player, Tabitha Kiragu.
This is part of Ruiru Sports Club series of activities that began earlier in the year with corporate entities like KCB hosting tournaments at the Thika-based facility as it marks 100 years of existence.
