KCB FC has ramped up its pre-season preparations as the team embarks on a new era under the leadership of Head Coach Patrick Odhiambo.
With the league set to kick off this weekend, Coach Odhiambo led the team through an intense pre-season training camp in Kericho, focusing on building a competitive squad and gelling new players as it prepares for an opening match against the Kariobangi Sharks at the Police Sacco Stadium this Saturday.

This rigorous training is part of the Club’s broader strategy to ensure that the team is in peak physical and mental condition as they head into the new season.

“We worked on building a squad that will compete effectively in the premier league. We have had a few additions to the squad, including having Francis Kahiro back and also reinforced the midfield by signing Dennis Maruti. Right now, we are waiting for more confirmations then we will be set for the league return,”said Coach Odhiambo

.
Last Wednesday, KCB played the newly promoted Mara Sugar FC, in which they lost narrowly 1-0. Despite the result, the match provided valuable insights and highlighted areas that need further improvement before the league officially begins.
“The friendly match against Mara Sugar FC was an eye-opener for us. It showed us where we need to focus our efforts in the coming days. The players are giving their best, but there is still room for improvement. Our goal is to ensure we are fully prepared for the season ahead, and I am confident that with continued hard work and dedication, we will achieve great results,” said Coach Odhiambo.

Having reached the FKF Cup final last season, KCB FC is now setting its sights on capturing its first Premier League title since rejoining the top tier in 2018. In the last season, KCB finished in tenth position with 45 points.
