“We are delighted with the progress. From Vipingo Baobab where we held the first leg, to Nyali today, the numbers are growing and the competition is getting tougher. Despite the rain interruptions, parents, coaches and officials ensured the juniors were safe and the integrity of the competition was maintained. The future of Kenyan golf is firmly in the Coast,” said Mariga.
Coast Junior Coach Mary Kandu praised the technical improvement, especially among the younger 9-hole players who showed no fear in the rain.
“Our training is paying off. The fantastic scores in wet conditions is amazing. We are building fundamentals grip, stance and mental toughness. Playing in rain teaches them how to adapt, stay focused and keep fighting. That is what will make them champions tomorrow,” said Kandu.
