Ryan Njuguna and Ashley Gachora ruled the course at the Royal Nairobi club leg of the NCBA US Kids Golf Spring Tour to throw the championship race wide open in their respective categories.
Njuguna was particularly impressive with a score of one under par 71 gross to win the boys 12 category.
In a near flawless performance, Njuguna started with a bogey at hole number one but played a steady level par in the remaining eight holes in the front nine while in the back nine, He picked two birdies at hole number 13 and hole number 17 and played level par in the other seven holes to carry the lead.
“The day was good and I played really well. All my shots were consistent and I won today because of my caddie; she helped me a lot especially with the lines. Hole number 10 and 17 were the turning point that helped him achieve the remarkable scores. But I played well like in hole number 17, I made a good birdie and also on hole 10, I made a good save for par,” elaborated a beaming Njuguna.

“I was to play 72 gross, but the second last hole number 8 is the one I messed up and I made a double bogey. But I finished with a birdie at hole 9, so I’m feeling ok,” she said.
