Home player John Lejirma delivered a composed and consistent performance to secure the 2025 Uhuru Shield Title with a final score of +1 for 221 gross at the conclusion of tournament at Royal Nairobi Golf Club in Nairobi after three days of intense and high-quality amateur Golf.
Lejirma capitalized on his home-course experience to outplay a competitive field and claim one of the most coveted trophies on the KAGC circuit.
This year’s championship delivered exceptional performances from a strong regional field, reaffirming the tournament’s stature as one of Kenya’s premier amateur events.
Finishing in second place was Yuvraj Rajput of Sigona Golf Club, who carded a total of +5 for 225 gross after a determined final round that kept him firmly in contention.
Third place went to Quram Bhatti of Muthaiga Golf Club, closing with +7 for 227 gross and He is one of the top-ranked players in the field who delivered a solid performance throughout the championship.
Former champion Isaac Makokha of Kenya Railway Golf Club completed the top four, finishing at +8 for 228 gross.
His return to the Uhuru Shield once again demonstrated the consistency and competitive spirit that defined his previous win.

The tournament is the second last series in this year’s Calendar of events organized by Kenya Golf Union (KGU) and supported by NCBA Bank.
The Amateurs are now setting their eyes to the last series which will be the Nyali Open Championship to schedule from 18th-20th December at the Nyali Golf and Country Club Course in Mombasa County where the overall Golfer of the year (GOTY) Champion will be crowned.
