The star decided to brilliantly shine again to home lady golfer Florence Mugi who was crowned the queen of the Course after emerging the overall winner in the 2025 Chairman’s (Jayne Githere) Prize golf tournament at the par 71 Nyali Golf and Country Club course in Mombasa County on Saturday.
Mugi just got her handicap last year and has not disappointed and proved with a double victory at the club course in less than fortnight.

This time the handicap 34 Mugi brought home an excellent 45 stable ford points to emerge the overall winner of the day and was awarded for her efforts a return air ticket to Dubai worth Ksh. 67,600 by Fly Dubai, the same prize She received few days ago.
“Its exciting to be here again at the podium and I extend my sincere gratitude to the organizers, my playing partners and everyone who made this day successful. The day has been great with the course playing well and hope to improve my game to the highest level, “said Mugi.
The tournament that brought together 256 players from the Coast Golf Clubs with others across the Country and Guests with valid handicaps was organized by the Club Lady Chairman Jayne Githere to bid farewell to Members, her friends and supporters after the completion of her one-year term in office.
The tournament was jointly sponsored by Standard Investment Bank (SIB), Moffat Court, Artha, Aryuv, Denri, Bussy Bee, Hike ‘N’ Pic, Shikara Limited, Lecol, Garden Grove, FlyDubai and Ruby Granite &Interiors and Friends of the Chairman among others.
Handicap 6 Nathan Ngweno was the Men gross winner on a five over 76 gross and handicap 11 Mary Naneo won the same on the Ladies side with 84 gross.
Saj Shah playing off handicap 18 was the Men winner on 43 points while handicap J.M. Muthuuri claimed the runners up slot on 42 points count back score after tying with third placed handicap 12 Martin Wahome.
The Lady winner was handicap 11 Mary Kandu but survived on a two way count back score of 41 points, after also tying with handicap 33 Navinder Kaur and handicap 23 Florence Karimi who were the runners up and third placed respectively.
Nitin Pandya playing off handicap 40 brought 38 points win the Best Men senior prize and the Best Lady Senior prize was claimed by handicap 27 Lena Breitner on 32 points.
The Best Junior was handicap 47 Emmalyne Kamau with 42 points while the Invited Coast Clubs winner on 39 points and the guest winner with 43 points were handicap 17 Prisca Jebet and handicap 42 Moses Mutungi respectively.
Dinesh Sasan playing off handicap 15 went home with the Best past chairman prize after carding 36 points.
The High handicappers 29+ Men winner on 48 points was handicap 37 Kenneth Mosop and handicap 42 Joan Kimani brought home 39 points to win the High handicappers 36+ lady prize.
Club Vice-Captain Muzzahim Taib representing Club Captain Omar Lewa, praised the outgoing Lady Chairman Jayne Githere for her successful leadership and team work throughout the year and thanked players for turning up in large numbers.
In her speech Githere also appreciated the large turnout of players, Club members, staffs and committee members, all the sponsors and her family for all their support in ensuring the smooth running of the Club.
“Iam truly excited to sharing this special day with our members, sponsors, friends and families for this joyful and successful occasion. It has indeed been a memorable event for all involved. Thank you all, “said Githere.
Githere described the year 2025 as both challenging and achievements, ultimately noting it as an enjoyable and a progressive period for the club.
She praised the transformation within the ladies’ section under Lady Captain Hilda Mugure, highlighting renewed energy and engagement among members and also extended equal appreciation to Club Captain Omar Lewa for his dedication in ensuring a vibrant calendar of competitions throughout the year.
As Head of the Board, Ms. Githere emphasized her commitment to inclusive leadership, encouraging open input from all Board members to ensure smooth governance.
“Iam proud of the Club, it is one of Kenya’s most prestigious Clubs and hope that its standards and reputation will be preserved for generations to come, “said Githere.
This tournament follows a similar one after the Club’s Lady Captain (Hilda Mugure) prize and the Club’s Captain (Omar Lewa) prize tournaments, who are all traditionally bowing out of office after serving their one-year term.
