All is set for the 17th, edition of the Prinsloo Sevens tournament, with more than 20 teams set to battle for honors at the Nakuru Athletics Club (NAC) this weekend as the 2026 National Sevens Circuit gets underway.
The event, scheduled for July 25th, to 26th, will bring together some of Kenya’s leading men’s and women’s rugby clubs for two days of high-intensity action.
Tournament Director Edward Moseti said preparations were complete and fans should expect an exciting weekend.
“All is set for the tournament, and we are looking forward to welcoming teams and fans to Nakuru. With more than 20 teams confirmed, we expect highly competitive rugby and entertaining moments throughout the weekend. We have also put the necessary measures in place to ensure a safe and enjoyable tournament,” said Moseti.
In Division One, 16 teams have been drawn into four pools where Pool A features Kenya Harlequin, Zetech University, Menengai Oilers and Mombasa RFC, while Pool B has KCB Rugby, Nondescripts, Mwamba RFC and hosts Nakuru RFC.
Pool C comprises KU Blakblad, defending champions Strathmore Leos, MMUST and Catholic Monks, with Pool D featuring Kabras Sugar, Daystar Falcons, Stallions Rugby and Kabarak University.
The top two teams from each pool will advance to the Cup quarter-finals, with the remaining teams competing in placement playoffs and Division Two will feature 16 teams, while eight women’s teams will compete across two pools.
Defending champions Strathmore Leos will be among the teams to watch, alongside 2025 circuit champions KCB Rugby, Kabras Sugar, Menengai Oilers and Kenya Harlequin.

The sponsorship will support the tournament’s organization, operations, and enhance the fan experience through entertainment and official after-parties on both days.

The Prinsloo Sevens will open the six-leg 2026 National Sevens Circuit, which will subsequently move to Dala Sevens in Kisumu (August 1–2), Kabeberi Sevens in Nairobi (August 15–16), Driftwood Sevens in Mombasa (August 22-23), Embu Sevens (September 5-6) and Christie Sevens in Nairobi (September 12-13).
