The stage is set for the battle challenge in the KC Junior Golf 2026 Grand Finale that tees off at the iconic Nyali Golf & Country Club course in Mombasa County on Sunday.
Billed as ‘The Ultimate Junior Golf Showdown,’ the Grand Finale will bring together the Coast’s brightest young talents from Under 8 to Under 18 years for a day of high stakes, high talent and unforgettable memories at one of Kenya’s most scenic par 71 championship course.
The tournament, running under the theme ‘Play-Learn-Compete-Grow,’ is the culmination of the KC Junior circuit, which has been nurturing junior talent across the region throughout the year.

Tournament coordinator Sheel Dhodia said yesterday in Mombasa that, Nyali was chosen as the perfect venue to crown the season’s champions because of its lush fairways, challenging water features and history of developing junior golf.
“This is more than a tournament; it is a celebration of junior golf growth at the Coast. We have had a fantastic circuit this year with the kids showing incredible improvement. The Grand Finale is where we bring them all together in one tournament, one champion, unforgettable memories,” said Dpdhia.
Dhodia said the philosophy behind KC Junior Golf is anchored on four pillars ‘Play, Learn, Compete and Grow,’ which has seen the number of juniors picking up Clubs double in the last two seasons,” said Dodhia.
“We want kids to first fall in love with the game, then learn the etiquette and skills, then compete fairly and finally grow into the next generation of Kenyan champions. We expect over 100 juniors from Mombasa, Kilifi, Malindi, Diani, Vipingo and even Nairobi for the finale. The categories will be Under 8, U10, U12, U14, U16 and U18 years for both boys and girls, so every child gets a fair chance to compete against their own age group,” he added.
Dhodia called on sponsors, parents and well-wishers to support the junior movement, noting that golf is an expensive sport and many talented kids from modest backgrounds need support with equipment, transport and training.
“Junior golf needs all of us. A second-hand club donated can change a child’s life. We are calling on corporates’ and individuals to come to Nyali on Sunday and witness the future of Kenyan golf. You will be amazed what an 8-year-old can do today,” said Dhodia.
Nyali Golf & Country Club, that is famously home to wild monkeys that roam the fairways, has in recent years become the hub for junior golf development in the region, hosting the US Kids Golf Tour, NCBA Junior Series and several Junior Stroke play events.
Its par-71 layout, cool air from surrounding indigenous tress, and forgiving but tricky greens make it an ideal learning ground for juniors while still testing the elite U18s.
The circuit has been praised by the Kenya Golf Union (KGU), and Junior Golf Foundation (JGF) for decentralizing junior golf from Nairobi to the Coast, where tourism and resort courses offer huge potential for sports tourism.
With the tagline ‘One Tournament-One Champion-Unforgettable Memories,’ the Grand Finale is expected to be a colorful affair, complete with branded tents, junior caddies, cheering parents and a prize table lined with trophies, golf bags and scholarships.
“Come Sunday 20th September at Nyali Golf Club, we will not just crown champions. We will create memories that these kids will carry for life. That’s the KC Junior Golf promise,” Dhodia concluded.
