It’s all smiles and excitements as residents of Mombasa are expected set to enjoy convenience, and quality food services at the tap of a button.
This is after Bolt Food, Kenya’s leading online delivery platform launched its services in Mombasa City, in line with the business’ recent announcement on investment and expansion in the country where it will operate its Food’s expansion into Mombasa CBD and Nyali environs, with the possibility to expand into other neighborhoods within Mombasa in the coming weeks.
Mombasa becomes the second city that Bolt has expanded to, following its official launch in Nairobi in 2021, and subsequent expansions around Nairobi’s metropolis.
With the launch into Mombasa, Bolt Food services shall be available to the residents of Ziwani, Tudor, Makupa, Tononoka, Kibokoni, Ganjoni and its environs.
The company has also enrolled a great selection of restaurants offering different cuisines ranging from Swahili delicacies, African cuisine, Fast Food selections, Continental dishes, and Seafood platters.
Some notable restaurants include KFC, Chicken Inn, Galito’s, Java House, Adams Barbeque, Crave Mombasa, Snack Attack Restaurant, Milia Gardens, and Damascus Shawarma.
Bolt Food customers in Mombasa are set to enjoy free delivery offers and up to 50% full menu discounts on their first three orders.
The on boarded restaurants will have the opportunity to increase their customer base, and the couriers will have competitive earning options whilst exercising independence in how they conduct their business.
Bolt Food Country Manager Edgar Kitur said they are delighted to launch the services in Mombasa City as part of their nationwide expansion plan.
“Mombasa remains an integral market for us, and we look forward to offering our clients affordable, convenient, and quality services. We are also happy to economically empower the youth in Mombasa by offering employment opportunities to them through the gig economy.
He pointed out that currently they have on boarded over 300 couriers in Mombasa on our platform, thus helping them make a decent living.

Data on the platform to consumer delivery by the firm Statista shows that the number of users in Africa is expected to amount to 79.51m users by 2027.
Indicating a continued increase in the growth of online food delivery services, which Bolt is already a market leader in Kenya.
It is also estimated that the revenue generated from the platform to consumer delivery segment is projected to reach US$2.49bn in 2023.
