Hellen Wanjiru took home course advantage to beat a team 211 golfers after going against the Kenya Coast Cyclone Hidaya threat in this year’s Sunset Golf Society golf (SGS) tournament played at the par 71 Nyali golf and Country Club course in Mombasa County on Saturday.

The handicap 29 Wanjiru recorded an excellent count back score of 42 stable ford points after posting 21 and 21 points in both nines to emerge the overall winner in the day long 18 holes tournament that brought together golfers from across the Country.

“I have not been in the podium for several months and yes, it’s my day of celebrations today. I won because the threats of the Cyclone Hidaya warning were not in my mind at all, though there were some unusual small strong winds, it was a lot fun at the course with my four-ball team and I found myself just swinging to the holes,” said Wanjiru.
