The firm plans on hosting six other events this year across the country to build on last year’s success where it held ten golf tournaments.
Bayer East Africa Limited Marketing and Communication Specialist Isabellah Magale said, “Today we had 130 players on the course and the reason why we chose Machakos as a destination for our golf tournament is because Machakos is the land of smallholder farmers, and we wanted to interact with them as well as link up with our distributor who sell our seeds and crop protection solutions to the farmers, “said Magale.
She pointed out that Bayer has been sponsoring golf for the last 10 years where they host several events every year and Last year they held a series of ten events across ten different golf clubs in the country.
“This was part of our 50-year celebrations for one of our products, while this year, we aim to have about eight events. We started off at the Nakuru Golf Club before coming to Machakos for the second event and We plan to have six more events across the country as part of our strategic engagements and look forward to engaging events with our stakeholders, “said Magale.
The series moves to the Nandi Bears club in June this year.
